Celtic Blackout
Small hooves sinking into the damp mud, rocks rolling under her hooves. The air was cold, even for summer, though autumn -and winter- was just around the corner. Blackout shook her tassles, banner flicking against her hindquarters. Her thin, slim, premature body -which looked one year younger- stood out against the eskers. Blackout gave a longing whinny, crying out in lonesomeness. The heart of a longer.
Alora
Alora looked like she was flying as trotted gracefully over the ground. Her pelt didn't look much different from the ground. Then she heard the whinny. To tell the truth, she hadn't met very many other horses in her life. She looked at the black mare curiously, whinnying back. "I'm Alora. Who are you?" She said as she walked closer.
Blackout
Blackout tensed, she turned to Alora, snorting cautiously. "I...I'm Blackout, short for Celtic Blackout." Blackout replied casually. "Once a human horse. Fire brought me to the wild." Blackout shuddered, those images imprinted into her mind were what haunted her.
Alora
"Nice name." Alora replied politely. "A fire? My home was burned down, so I came here." Yes, she was a talkative mare. But that was only because she had plenty to say.
Celtic Blackout
Blackout sighed and nomed. "Same here." Blackout looked at Alora. "The stable started on fire during a storm, my friend didn't make it out. I was probably the only one."
Alora
Alora shook her head. It's a pity, that." She sighed. "After the second fire my masters decided to let me go free. I guess they thought that it was too dangerous for me to live with them."
Celtic Blackout
Blackout sighed. "At least you saw your master. Mine was kind, she was gentle and her touch was soft." Blackout closed her eyes momentarily. "I heard her cries that night, but...I was too afraid to stay by the fire. She was running in to save the other horses. I think. Probably saving me..." Blackout looked at Alora, giving a faint smile. "I don't speak of it much."
Alora
Alora's eyes showed concern as she listened to Blackout. "Well, now you're safe, and that's all that matters." The mare replied.
Celtic Blackout
Blackout gave a shrug. "Yeah, I guess." Blackout replied plainly. "What about you? You must have a bigger story?" Blackout gave a soft chuckle.
