The black Border collie walked silently through the eskers, dark eyes washing over the scenery. This place was quite dull and wide. She had never seen such ground formations before, in all her life. But then again, she had never been so wild before, so free. Humans had taken a toll on her, stolen most of her life. Now she was able to roam the vast wilderness, with hopefully no problems. She knew how to fend for herself, through. There was no problem there.
A bit cautious and very wary of the land, she stalked up the side of one sandy esker, which was topped with snow. Her paws slid down a foot or so every once in a while, but she recovered easily and reached the top. With a content sigh, she patted out a flat, somewhat even surface and sat down, eyes once again looking out over the eskers. She actually didn't know what the mounds were, but she was indeed quite interested in finding out.
At that moment, legs feeling a bit tired and her eyelids becoming heavy, she curled up on her hill and began to doze off into a light nap. It was a dull winter day, with nothing else to do. What better way to spend your time than taking a quick nap?
Disturbed
I felt as if I had been run over by a truck. Hell, I probably looked like I had been run over by a truck. My steps were long and sure, confident and defiant. I didn't know my way around Sparkling Creek very well, and I had a horrible tendancy of getting lost. A lot. I hated admitting it, and like every other male out there I wasn't going to stop and ask for directions. I come upon a place with large dunes, and halt. Well....Shit where am I now? I had never been to these lands before, never knew what the hell these things were. With a dark scowl, I continue on. My dark fur is standing on end, making my massive frame look even larger. I was one scary son of a bitch, and I knew it. My blue red eyes seemed like fire and water, my voice with its Transylvania accent could play upon ones skin and make it crawl. I was proud of myself for it as well. Should I be?
I trot up one of the massive eskers, sliding now and again but never falling. As I reach the top, my eyes fall upon that of another. A manical glem in my eye is her only warning, but she is sleeping. Immediatly I cover it up and move forth, silent as only a true predator could be. When I was no more then two feet away, I say in my darkly accented voice Pretty little lamb, sitting all alone. A shame really. My tail ticks, curing itself around my hind leg as I stare at her. Dinner, possibly? Oooh now that would be lovely. Dog for dinner. Yes yes.

The black border collie continued to nap easily, and though her head was turned away from the wolf, her auds caught the near sound of plodding paws. At the first hint of another being there, her head popped up and she was on her own paws in a flash. She had turned around by then, dark eyes staring hard at the unknown creature. A wolf. She had never came in contact with any wolves before, being a stray living on human lands before, and then being in a pound.
Posture unwavering and still, she drew in a deep breath. She was a strong canine, and wouldn't back down. Neither would she become a wolf's dinner.
"Who are you calling a lamb?" she asked breifly, her voice powerful with an elegant feminine tone. "Better watch your back." she then stated sternly, ready to spring. This wolf had invaded her space, and when that happened, with a complete stranger especially, she became defensive. She didn't lose her cool, though. She didn't care what this wolf thought of her. She grew up the hard way, and one couldn't help but show it.
