As the wind lightly rustled the lasting leaves on the few trees dotting the outter side of the eskers, a new scent blew in. It smelled of a fae, and very faintly of blood and spicey meats.
Just returning from the Woodland Farm after being tended to by a human, the pure white, ghostly wolf ran into the large area, really not a destination at all. She didn't even know where she was going, but she knew that she needed to find a place away from humans. She needed a place to heal her wound up a bit more, so she could better care for herself if she ran into trouble or something of the sort.
Plowing her eerie form through a high esker, she toppled over, realizing that instead of moving her legs to move up the side, she had been going right through it. Shaking her dial as she slid back down with her body curled, she snorted, feeling the sand overcome her form. Half covered, half not, she blinked a few times to rid most of the sand away from her baby blue eyes, which clearly stood out from her magnificently-hued pelt. Although it really wasn't much of a hue anyway, she was still quite a creature to look at.
Why did I do that? she asked herself in her mind, finally stepping out of all the gritty particles and shaking her thick pelt free of it.
With her wounded limb being held up slightly from the ground, she quickly pushed back onto her lower side and began lightly chewing on the bandage, not intending to rip it off, but instead get rid of an irritating itch that the sand left. She'de need a bath after all this, especially to get the blood out of her stained-looking pelt that engulfed her limb. You may be wondered what had happened to her. She, along with a friend, had been shot at by a human, and while her friend had also been hit(but not at all very seriously), she had gotten struck by a bullet in the left hindleg. To this very moment, the shard of metal was lodged inside her flesh, but with the help of an herbal paste beneath the bandage, it'de come out in time. Then the bandage would simply dissolve, so she could go about her business without having to worry about getting a human to take the cloth stuff off.
Sighing lightly, she just sat there, staring blankly at the grayish ground. Her mind continuously played the happenings over and over again, thinking about how she'de go about with her life again. She'de soon be back to normal again, with her leg all healed up, but until then, her mind couldn't leave what happened. It truely didn't bother her, really, and she didn't care about it much as long as this leg turned out to be fine in the end. While she was now wary about humans, she still didn't mind them much. And now, since sitting here, in this entirely silent, cool place, she could go over things. It'de be a long while until she snapped back to reality, for sure. Her senses were still alert, though, yet her features said otherwise. After all, looks can be decieving...

The brute strided towards the fae, his dial held high with pride. His mate was elsewhere but this fae looked alone, like she needed a pack. Maybe he could get her to join the Shadow Lurkers, a city pack as you probably knew. Silverfur gave a sharp yip to allow the fae know he was there.
'Welcome my friend! what brings you here on the day the Shadow Lurkers celebrate the death of their enemy?' Silverfur called, hoping for some kind response.

Spirit's eyes were quickly redirected onto the spot where the new, unknown wolf had appeared. Giving her head a tilt, her eerie baby blue eyes studdied him. How unusual... Must be happy about something... she thought, watching him quietly. "Um, what? I don't know of these 'Lurkers.'" she replied, a bit confused. She barely even knew where she was, for that matter.

Silverfur chuckled. " The wolves of the alleys. Sure you haven't heard of them?" Silverfur then studied her blue eyes, as though she was serious. " They are fine pack lovely fae. Surely you'd like to see them." Silverfur knew that with the lose of two promising pups and a few allies had betrayed the pack and others disappeared. " We have had a hard time. A battle, two pups died, but we have gained some too. A fae and a male, me and my mate also have joined."
Silverfur though it was stupid to explain everything. " You'd like it their, honestly. Maybe find a family yourself." Although he knew that if she joined, it would take a little for her to find a mate.
" But if you do not, suit yourself." Silverfur would not force her, just welcoem her.

Eerie blue eyes continued to look at the brute, whom she still had no clue of his name. Growing slightly less interested in this whole "conversation," she took in a light sigh and released it afterwards. She didn't know about joining a pack practically just after coming to the valley. Yes, she'de been here for a few days by now, but she wasn't very fond of packlife, where you were always below someone else, no matter what. Even alphas had someone more comanding than them. Spirit had surely experienced that side of life before.
Listening with flickering auds, she somewhat tilted her elegant head to the side, wrapping her silky banner around her sitting body, and over her forepaws. Once he was finished, nothing much had changed within her rambling mind. "Uh, I've never heard of them. I'm still fairly new to these parts." she stated, blinking a couple times. She was blank, expressioness for a moment, before she started up again. "Hard times? I just had a hard time a while ago. Got a bullet in the leg." she said, angling her body slightly as to reveal her bandaged hindlimb. It'de be good as new with time, which would allow it to heal up.
She suddenly felt her body go cold at the mentioning of pups dieing. She wasn't a mother, and she was probably, no, most likely, far from ever having her own pups. She could wait, though.
"Uh, I was thinking of scouting around as a loner for now. I don't think I'm quite ready to get into the constant action of packlife again. After all, I haven't been in a true pack since I was about, oh, a couple or so years old? Nice little friend gang-like thing, no biggie." she added, getting a slight grin, "But thanks, I must say. I'll keep this offer in mind."
Spirit offered a slight grin, or maybe it was just a small smile. Either way, she was happy that someone was welcoming her to join a pack. She knew she wasn't quite crazy about them right now, but that'de probably grow in time. She couldn't make sudden decisions anymore, like the once reckless self she had been as a youngster. No, she had matured quite a bit since then, but still had that pup-self on the inner side.
Silverfur
Silverfur respected her choice. " Humans, they use hand made things to protect them. Pitful they are." silverfur gave a snort. " If you go into the alleys of the city, you'll find me there, I'm always on guard."
Silverfur gave a small laugh. "But I'm not leaving yet. My mate may have newborns but if you want you can hang around my pack. Don't haveta join."

The white wolfess looked at the brute, giving her head a slight tilt. "Hand made? I soppose... Their paws are so capable of doing so many different things." she stated, thinking back to when that two-legged had bandaged up her leg. Remembering everything that had been done in order to put the paste on her wound, and then wrap and tie a bandage around it was far beyond her. In reality, she couldn't imagine herself doing any of that stuff. Not only did she lack the special paws, but also the skill. Skill... That's it. she thought to herself, slightly staring, as if in her own world. She actually had been for that little moment, before lightly shaking her head to rid the thoughts and come back to reality.
"I may be heading to the alleys sometime... Though I can't exactly put my paw on it. I prefer the exotic wilderness, to tell the truth." she stated, bringing a smile to her own maw as she thought of the leaves on the tall trees swaying in the cool breezes, and the calm waters of the lakes and ponds, and, especially, of the sky. She dearly loved the sky. To her, no matter where on the earth you were, there was only one thing that remained the same: the sky. Big and blue, endless with vast arrays of clouds. Who knows? She always believed it was true, and perhaps it was. No, of course it was.
She sighed in a content mood now. These thoughts always calmed her and put her in a state of relaxation, given the right time and place.
"Hang around your pack?" she then repeated, once again coming back to her true senses. Wouldn't that be a little strange? she asked herself, auds pricked. "Wouldn't that be a burden?" she then asked him, the words pouring out of her mouth, a lot like lowfat liquid chocolate. Not quite sweet, but truely kind, while still carrying that hint of maturity. Her voice was very strong and smooth when she wanted it, but also depicted the way she really was. Well, that's Spirit for you.
Silverfur
" We hang around the wildness more then the city, truth be told." Silverfur then chuckled at Spirit's statement of humans. " And you'd be no burden, possibly you can be just a ally to our pack. That way you could live anywhere you wanted, and not worry about us splitting your thought. Not that we do that!"
SPiRiT
Spirit listened to him silently, taking every word in. While overall, she wasn't interested in a pack, she had always been one for making friends. But allies? She was only one wolf. What good would just she herself provide in the time of war?
"Don't humans come by often? I'de think they would." she stated, but then shrugged her shoulders slightly. Maybe humans came around, maybe not. It didn't affect her one bit, so why should she be so curious as to find out? Giving her elegant head another shake, she ran her salmon tongue over her sharp fangs, just remembering that she hadn't gotten anything to eat yet. Deciding to just cut this little meeting short, she brought up the subject. "Do you know any place around here that has some easy prey? I haven't eaten anything very decent since my arrival." she said, feeling and hearing her stomach snarl at her. She didn't wish to seem rude if she did, but she needed to catch a quick afternoon meal. Hopefully he'de understand her hunger, and when Spirit got hungry, she was easily irritated, and no one got between her and her food.
Silverfur
"No humans...weird, isn't it." Silverfur chuckled, then looked into the wind. " The Bog or forest hold rich prey, squirrels, chipmunks, even in this weather." Silverfur tasted the wind. " Caribou lurk in this area too."

Spirit looked at him, taking the info in and making sure she stored it in memory. She had always pocessed an awesome memory, being able to remember anything that others told her. Just about no matter what it was. And certain things just stuck. She could hear something said once, that wasn't even the whole point of what was being said, and remember it. Why? She had no clue. Things just stuck. After all, she did have quite an active mind with a memory of super glue. It wouldn't be right if she forgot everything.
She nodded once he finished speaking, and then put her nose up into the soft winds. It was becoming awfully cold again. Why do the seasons have to change? she asked herself, giving her dial a brisk shake. Good thing she was an Arctic wolf. Her pelt was thick enough all year round, and then got another layer or two during the colder months. Lucky for her.
"I'll keep those in mind. I must say thanks, though, since I would probably have never found anything good around here. I'de settle for a caribou if only I was feeling a little more famished, but with my leg and all, I guess I'll go for something smaller." she stated in reply, offering another bright grin. She then looked out across the rest of the eskers, or about as far as her blue eyes could see, and turned. "Well, I'de best be getting to work. I'll get some food, find a place to wait out the rest of this chilly day, and then perhaps visit your pack in the near future." she stated, pricking her auds as she heard something. Ah, yes, back to business. She would have left, but stayed there, waiting to see if he had any last words to say to her. She loved chatting, but her hunger was causing her to feel a little empty-- a feeling that she was sure most hated.
