It didn't take long before Mikhail and Lark were back in town, this time on a mission. "Ah, here we are." The Russian announced, dropping back into English. He knew the man usually that worked here did not speak Russian. But at the same time, he was not a person who would rat out on any of his customers.
Brian was no member of ATHA; he was with the CrypticSilvers. "It's been a while, Mikhail. Here for more rounds?" The man asked as he spotted one of his more familiar customers.
Mikhail shook his head, "Not today. I've brought a friend with me who is interested in buying though."
Lark followed Mikhail into the building, the gun hanging on a strap on her shoulder. She had some extra clips in the pockets of her vest. She looked around the store, then looked at the man at the counter. "Hi. I'm Katrina Kamenev." By now she had about five different names, for she knew she could be tracked if she said her real name. She pulled out her paperwork and showed it to Brian. "I need another one of these." She said, lifting the MP5 up to where he could see it.
"That's a handy peice of work you have there." Brian commented when she lifted the weapon for him to see. He then looked over the paperwork and nodded, "Well then, Katrina, who am I to deny a Russian their weapons?" He gave a chuckle at this, "I can get you another MP5. I've got more than that though, if you are interested."
Lark let the gun fall again. "Then what else do you have?" She asked, taking another look around the store. "I would think this is the strongest kind of weapon that you're allowed to sell in America." She grinned as she said this.
"Looking for legal weapons, I see." Brain said with a hinting of a grin. "If you are looking for something heavy-duty, there is the AK-47. Not so good for long-range, but it'll blast through anything within reasonable distance." He explained, pointing out the riffle as he opened up a catalog. "Or there is the M164A. Lighter, and good for long-distance volleys. It has lighter rounds though, and they won't tear through a whole lot." Letting the two look over the catalog, Brian went in back of the store, then reappeared with another weapon, "If you should happen to have to right paper work, there is the M249." There was a slyness in his tones now, for he figured that these two didn't have the official paper work to purchase this weapon. But being a weapons dealer for the CS, most of the weapons he sold were illegal, and very rarely did his customers have 'proper' paper work.
Lark's eyes widened as she saw the AK-47. "My dad had one of those, but he never let me use it. Probably for a good reason, seeing as I was seven years old." She said, her eyes fixed on the catalog. "How much does it cost?"
Brian laughed softly, "I can understand why he wouldn't let you use it." The man picked up the riffle and turned it about in his hands, "This is a fine weapon. The market is pretty good right now... $450. Feel free to look around more if you want."
Mikhail looked to Lark before turning his eyes back to the gun. He definitely wanted one of these, but he'd have to buy it under her name. He couldn't afford to have anyone tracking such a weapon on his records.
Lark looked at the gun, then at Brian. "I'll take it." She certainly had enough money to buy this gun, but she didn't know if she was strong enough to use it. Either way, Mikhail would be the one using the AK-47.
"Great, I'm sure you'll enjoy it." Brian said, setting the riffle on the counter, along with a round of bullets. "Now..." His eyes shifted between Mikhail to Lark, "We could fill out a bunch of paperwork..." The man let his words trail off a moment as he studied the two. He knew that Mikhail wasn't on the police force, and he doubted Lark was, so he was taking a risk here, "...or we can do this the quick way. You give me $350, and the gun is your with no hassle, no forms to fill." If he had judged these two right, he was sure they'd be stopping back here later in the future. They were potential good customers for him.
Mikhail had to smirk now, glad that Brian was getting right down to it. From his research, he knew this CS Member dealt with the illegal weapons trade.
Lark looked back down at the gun and thought for a moment. "No paperwork." She said after a while, pulling a wallet out of her pocket. She rarely spent any money, and much of it was earned through dogfights. She pulled out $350 and put it on the counter.
Under Mikhail's scrutinizing gaze, Brian quickly counted out the money Lark handed over. Once he was satisfied that the amount was correct, he in turn handed the weapon to her. "As far as the authorities are concerned, you didn't get this from me, got it?" He didn't mind her spreading word to other people, but he could get into some troubles if the 'straight' cops found out about his dealings.
Mikhail turned his eye to the weapon now, as a faint grin encompassed his features. He couldn't wait to use it.
Lark nodded to Brian and took the gun. "Fine." She said blankly before looking back at Mikhail. She held the weapon out to him. "Zdes'. Zto vashe. Here. It's yours." She said in a quiet tone.
A few moments later, Kirill landed just outside the door and squawked. "Let me in, Lark! Come on!" The bird cried out. Lark moved to the door and opened it. Immediately, Kirill flapped into the air and landed on his master's arm, looking around at the store.
