Two humans drive up in a truck and take out the yearling wolf/shepherd hybrid. A rope was fastened to her muzzle, as well as her neck. They led her to a worker at the Pound, and handed over the rope leash. After a lengthy conversation, the two men leave, and the worker puts Storm Dancer into an outdoor pen with dog food and water, as well as a chew-toy and dog house.
She paces by the fence, gazing longingly toward the woods. She suddenly hated humans and the she-wolf Catalpa. Her fur bristled at the thought. She hated all wolves, really; except Moonshadow and Stormfalcon.
A large male husky/wolf paces back and forth in his own pen, not too far from Storm Dancer's. When he catches sight of her, he barks, and wags his tail.
Moonshadow runs in and whimpers, looking at Storm Dancer.
"Storm dancer! I'm sorry.. I was gone.. How can I free you?" She looks at the male husky/wolf.
"I'll free you, too, if I can."
She presses against the fence, whimpering lightly, "It's alright, I was careless... two humans caught me! I don't know how I can get out!" Storm Dancer looks toward the husky/wolf male, and waves her tail happily. Until this point, she assumed most other dogs or wolves would be hostile to her.
"You won't be able to get her out, but I know a way. Wolf, you hide in the bushes over there. I'm going to cause a ruckus, and that will attract the humans. You there." he nodded at Storm Dancer. "You have to play sick. Then, one of the humans might come into your pen to see what was wrong. You can run out, because they're pretty stupid. They've left the gates open before like that."
She nods, silent, then runs and hides in the bushes, hidden from sight. She waits alertly.
The husky starts barking, his loud powerful bark, and begins snarling and barking, slamming himself against the chain link fence, making it rattle to make more noise. From the house, a light flicks on, and shuffling was heard. The humans where awake.
She nods, then lies down on her side in the middle of the pen, panting loudly to feign an illness. Storm Dancer pretends to be oblivious to the noise the husky/wolf was making, or anything else as she stares off at nothing. But she was prepared to make a hasty get away when the humans came.
A single old man makes his way toward the husky/wolf, and shouts angrily at him to be quiet. He then catches sight of Storm Dancer, and muttering to himself, opens her pen, and walks in, leaving the gate a little open. It was enough to push open and make a getaway. The husky/wolf watches the human go, careful to keep barking. The man slowly approaches Storm Dancer, trying to see what was wrong.
When the man is close enough, Storm Dancer leaps up and plows into the man to knock him over, then slams against the gate to make it swing open as she races out of it. She springs into the woods, halting beside Moonshadow in the thick cover of vegetation, then peers up to watch the husky/wolf.
She nuzzles Storm Dancer, then turns to watch the husky/wolf, ready to run away if the humans notice her or Storm Dancer.
The human is completely surprised, and is easily knock over. The husky/wolf had slipped out of a hole he had dug earlier, and stands outside of his pen. He grins mischevieously, and leaps at the gate, shutting it on the human. He runs toward the bushes where he can tell Storm Dancer and Moonshadow are, and wags his tail. "I'm sorry, I never got to know your names. I'm Blue Moon." He smiles, "But we gotta get out of here fast. There's other humans here."
She nods, speaking quickly.
"I'm Moonshadow, alpha of the Ochotona Mountains pack. This is Storm Dancer, my adopted daughter. Follow me, let's go to my pack's territory."
She runs off towards the Ochotona Mountains Territory, hoping that Blue Moon and Storm dancer are following.
She waves her tail happily, "Thank you for saving me!" Storm Dancer speaks to Blue Moon as she turns to follow Moonshadow.
