Jatano --------------------------------------- Raisa
It had been three weeks since Jatano and his sister Raisa had been placed into the Dog Pound. They had settled as well as could be expected after their previous LAPD owner was shot dead. The pair were used as Guard dogs, but weren't overly aggressive. Raisa was infact a lovely natured dog, who was devoted to her owner and was really friendly. Jatano wasn't as trusting and loving, but was very protective and loyal and more reserved and calm than his sister.
The pair were lying at the back of the pen, one of the many that was outside the Pound. They were midway through their training with the LAPD, but had failed the tests and so had been placed for adoption for anyone who wanted them. They were a large pair, and perfect for guarding and any other activities. Farm life, in the wild was ideal for them. Raisa lay her head across her brothers back and sighed. "Ever think we'll leave here?" She muttered. He lifted one ear and turned it towards her, leaving his head on his paws and his eyes closed. "Who knows, Rai, Today could be different."
Nicole walked past the many kennels, but didn't see very many dogs that she liked. "Rat dog, rat dog, rat dog..." She said to herself as she passed some small dogs. She soon stopped in front of Jatano and Raisa. "You're pretty dogs." She knelt down and put her hand up to the bars to see what the dogs would do.
Raisa's ears lifted as she heard the sound of a voice, one that didn't belong to the workers here. She stood up, and padded to the front of the pen to see what was going on. When she saw Nicole coming towards her, she barked, her tail beginning to wag behind her.
Jatano groaned, opening one eye slowly, "What's go..." he stopped as he saw a human. Lifting his head up, Jatano's tail also began to wag, but he didn't get up just yet.
Raisa on the other hand...or in this case paw, tried to lick Nicole's hand through the bars, then began to pace in front of the kennel, her tail now wagging wildly.
Nicole smiled when Raisa licked her hand. These ones are perfect. She thought, watching the dogs closely. She slowly stood up and spoke to a volunteer. "I'll take these dogs." She said. The man nodded. "I'll go get some leashes." He replied, walking away. He soon came back with two leashes, then handed them to Nicole while he opened the kennel. "Here dogs..." He said softly. Nicole knelt down and held a leash out to Raisa.
Raisa barked loudly when she spotted the leashes, tail wagging wildly as the door was opened. She turned her head round to look at her brother, who was now standing and walking towards the human. "She's taking us, Jatano!" Jatano nodded, smiling at his sister, his tail now wagging aswell. "I know, We're finally out of here."
Raisa bounded out of the pen towards Nicole, nudging her new owner gently before standing still for the lead to be placed on. Jatano stood behind his sister, his tongue lolling out of his mouth as he waited for a leash.
Nicole smiled and chuckled. "It looks like they're happy to be out of there." She said to herself, gently patting the dogs. She clipped a leash to both of the dogs.
The man handed some forms to Nicole, which she hastily but neatly filled out. This was an exciting moment for her. She absolutely loved German shepherds. "Let's go, then." She said cheerfully, gently leading them down the hall and out of the Pound.
