The purebred Siberian husky paced within the small enclosure he was confined in. He hated this place! The food was garbage, the water was warm, and the toys were worn and older than the floor they were sitting on! His doggy bed was even ripped and torn, slashed by both age and other canines that had been here before him. Who knows how long this junk had been here. He didn't want to stick around and find out, either, or else he may end up just like them.
His chilling icey blue eyes scanned the areas that he could see from his point of view inside the cage. He knew no other dogs in here; not even any of the humans. Those humans that brought him here were mean, cold, and heartless all the same. He released a few loud barks to any caring two-legged that would even care to listen. He wanted out here. He was an outdoor dog and was a kind to go crazy if left indoors for too long. He needed exersize to burn his stored energy.
His banner was wagging furiously as he yipped at any human that walked past him, yet most gave him irritated and annoyed glances, and the rest didn't bother to look in his direction at all. Wasn't anyone here interested in him? He finally gave up and made his way to the back of the cage, laying and curling up in a corner. He rested his dial, with his eyes staring blankly out at everything. Well, it appeared he would be stuck in here longer than he thought...
She worked here at the Dog Pound and had been gathering dogs right and left to save them from being taken to the pit. She now only had Cookie, Malon and Psyche. As the young woman made her rounds, she saw Juneau and a smile lit up her face. "Handsome man, what are you doing here?" She opened the gate and put a leash on the Siberian Husky. "Come now, mon ami. Lets see what life has in store for you." She was going to see how well he gets along with other dogs. She walked him up and down among the many cages and took a ball out. She began to bounce the tennis ball up and down to see if the husky would like it.
