A human came to the pound for an Australian shepherd. She walked to the desk. "Are there any Australian Shepherds here? If not, what kinds of dogs do you have?" She asked. "I have lots of experience." She said and pointed to a female Australian Shepherd. That's Nala. She pointed to a Hybrid. This is the sweetest Hybrid named Laika Then the human pointed to the only one who was a male. This is our newest edition to the family, Thunder. She said. Thunder! Say hi won't you? She calls. Thunder bounds up and jumps up with his forlegs on the desk. He moved his tiny paw up and down, waving.
She walked from behind the front desk. She was new here and basically just a volunteer but she was learning. Bruises were fresh on her cheeks from a long night with a violent person and the color underneathe them was pale. She looked up with her cool green eyes and smiled as best she could as she pet the dogs one at a time. "I am not sure what we have here....I however may have a dog that you would like to take. If you will wait just on just one minute I will go get him. She turned and walked away with a dancers grace her long bblack hair swaying to and fro.
She returned a few moments later with an odd looking hybrid male. His eyes were a dark grey and couldnt be called blue no matter how you looked at them. His fur was long and course like a german shepherd and one ear stuck straight up while the other fell over to the side. He tail was that of a collies, thick and long and his coloring was mixed but mainly black and tan. Aralyn glanced up nervously "He was turned in by his owners yesterday. They said hes really smart but that he isnt very good with little children which is why they had to get rid of him. His name is Perdition. Hes a border collie austrailian shephered german shepherd and a touch rottweiler mix. If you dont like him Im sure I can go grab someone else for you."
Perdition watched the other dogs cautiously his eyes storm grey. He looked ready to attack but he didnt. Many always thought he was vicious for either his name or his large size. He looked up at the girl then to Aralyn and layed down with a thump. He had been with Malon for awhile and had begun to enjoy the hybrid.
Aralyns dog Malon had followed her out of the cage that Perdition had been in. He was a german shephered mix and with little black on him except stripes on his back giving him a tigerish look. He stared at the other dogs also then sat next to Aralyn in his usual place. This was his master and his alone.
"I like him, but I would rather have a kid friendly one. You know, some kids go up to dogs and shove their hand in their face. But Perdition is a lovely dog. May I see one or two more?" The girl asked.
The male looked up at the girl and sneezed then turned and lay down under the counter with a sigh.
Aralyn smiled and nodded then went to the back and came back a moment later walking a medium size male. He was steel grey and his eyes deep yellow, his ears flopped over. His tail was long his muzzle pointed. Aralyn stopped and said "This is Thorned. Hes a austrailan shephered wolf mix. He gets along with kids and other dogs, but hes been known to herd the horses around." She smiled faintly as she remembered when her own horse psyche had been herded with the male/
The girl reached down to pat both males on the head. She loved both of them, but she like Thorned the best. "I'll have Thorned. How much will it cost??" She asked. Thunder padded up to Thorned. "Hello! I'm Thunder! Who are you?" Thunder asked cocking his head.
He stared at Thunder a moment then glanced up at Aralyn. He looked back and said softly "Thorned." His word was short and to the point for he was not the friendliest until he knew that he could trust those that came to him.
Aralyn smiled and said happily "Since hes been here awhile I will let you have him for $40." The usual price was about a hundred so Aralyn figured this would be a good deal for the girl and her dogs. Plus she really wanted to find Thorned a home.
the girl let Thorned sniff her hand. She knew that it would take time to get to know the dog. She got out her wallet. " There we are. I saw you with a dog named Cookie. I met the owner...the owner is-is very mean. I am gI have to run to the car and get his leash." Sarah said. She ran out to the car and came back with a silver leash. It was her best so far. It had little pawprints all over it. She had made it herself. She called Thorned. He came reluctanty. Sarah clipped the leash on Thorned. Nala cam up to him. "Don't mind Thunder. Hes still a pup. I am Nala. You know, we are sort of realated...I am an Australian Shepherd. You have some in you, I can tell. ' Nala said. Sarah waved goodbye to Aralyn. "Thank you!" She called.
