The tawny-colored wolf pup had gotten separated from her sister, Annie, while they went exploring. She was far from home and completely lost, but didn't care at the moment. Curiousity kept her moving from one new thing to another, until she found herself drawn in by the strange scents and sites of the human's world.
Her lanky pup tail bounced along loosely behind her, moving with the steps of her awkwardly large paws. Her golden eyes flashed this way and that, taking in all the new things as fast as she could. What in the world... what... what is this? She thought in bewilderment, padding boldly towards the shelter and the rows of cages. Having never run into any opposition before in her young life, Jessie eagerly approached the nearest kennel and peered inside.
" You might want to reconsider before doing anything else in this dreary place." Came a low femminine voice from out of the shadows. " The humans might catch you..." She said, trailing off, not shure if the pup already knew.
Jessie perked her ears up, startled but curious of the voice. She had no clue the horror this place could bring. "Who's there?" The pup spoke out, stepping closer and cocking her head to the side, "And what do you mean? What's wrong with this place?"
The big white wolf hybrid stepped out of the shadows, making herself visible. " Humans despise wolves, or anything like a wolf," she said, looking the pup straight in the eye. " If humans won't take the dogs in the cage, they're killed. As for wolves," surprisingly, the hybrid gave a bitter little chuckle," they get killed right away, same for hybrids like myself. The might just kill me straight away because I resemble a wolf so much. By the way, my name's Misha. What's yours?"
Jessie looked bewildered at the information that Misha was dishing out. "Wah.... humans? Cages?" The youngster stared at the wolf in confusion. This was her first venture away from the den, and she had never seen a human before, much less heard about their strange contraptions. But she didn't like the tone of things. "Why would the humans kill us? Are they predators?"
The hybrid smiled, showing her gleaming white teeth. " Do you smell that strange smell? That is the human scent. They are not predators, they kill because they fear us. The carry big metal sticks that are very noisy, if the hit you, you die instantly or become injured. Not all humans are this terrible. I can show you a place were we would be safe, a human lives there. She might feed us, as long as we do not prey on her animals. What do you think?"
The youngster trembled slightly at hearing these frighteful accounts of humans. "W-what do humans look like?" She ventured to ask next, imagining them as monstorous beings with claws and teeth that must be over a foot in length each. She wasn't so sure, after conjuring up such an image, that she wanted to see one of these human things. But... it was too intruiging! "I'd like to see one... and, I guess I'm pretty hungry."
"I have a different propasal. I am a new member of a pack. Perhaps you would care to join, as a new member. The alpha's have pups. And humans aren't really too scary, just their matal sticks. So, what do you say? Wanna become packmates?"
She had never thought of leaving her own parents, for she was still a young pup. Yet this offer sounded like some exciting adventure! Especially the part about more pups, who she was eager to make friends with. Indeed, her parents never crossed her mind at the moment, and out of pure anticipation, she yipped excitedly, "Sounds like good fun! I want to mee the pups!" Jessie said, eager to join the pack.
