Silver

+ He padded back, tassle curved up and muzzle lifted arrogantly, though he remained in the shadows and stayed away from the cages, he only feared the humans now. +

+ He paused and looked into the cage nearest...his ears pricked and tassle swaying with intrigue +

*Dogs*

The dogs don't notice you this time, but there is the usual barking and yipping now and then.

In the cage nearest you is a medium sized dog, smaller than you, and covered with excessive, long fur. The eyes are hard to see amongst all the fur, and the tail is gone; having been bobbed when the dog was young. The ears are floppy and matted thick, and a blunt snout rests on a broad skull. This is an odd looking mutt. He doesn't yet notice you.

Silver

+ He frowned, having never seen a dog like to this one he was confused and wary. He did not step forward or move at all, but watched and after a while spoke +

~How can you stand your hair like that, I could never have my hair that ling, it would drive me crazy~

+ His voice was smooth with a faint hint of sarcasm and ice in it. His eyes were locked upon the brute and he spoke very quietly so not to disturb the dogs around him +

*Dog*

The looks toward you, and bobs his head to get a better view.
"It's alright, I guess. I'm used to it." the dog steps closer to the front of the kennel to see you get, and sniffs the air for your scent. He hadn't realized the sarcasm.
"It's better than having the humans cut my hair and give me a bath. Hey, you're a wolf, aren't you?"

Silver

He did not move still, his muscles tense slightly as the dog approached the cage, but relax as he speaks. He narrows eyes at the prospect of being touched at all my filthy human hands.

~Very observant of you. What's your name? Or don't you have one?~

In the second part of his sentence, he spoke with no sarcasm in his voice, he was genuinely curious

*Dog*

"I'm not quite sure if I have a name... the humans call me rascal, mutt, dog, and some other names. I never got a name from my mother." he sits back on his shaggy haunches.

"Do you have a name?"

Silver

+ He watched the dog for a moment, then walked closer, until he could sent the mongrel and view him fully. +

~Yes I have a name.~

+ He paused, and tilted his head +

~Its Silver. I shall give you a name if you want.~

+ His tail lifted arrogantly and he sat down, tail curved up in a arch over his rump +

*Dog*

"Silver? That's an interesting name." he watches Silver, "I would really like a name. I don't really like that ones I've gotten from the humans."

Silver

+ He narrowed his eyes and cocked his lip into a lopsided smile, tassle gave an incoherent flick which could have been a wag. +
~Zahm, it means 'the tame one'~
+ He lifted his head and glanced at the latch which kept the mutt imprisoned. +
~Haven't you ever wanted to break out?~
+ His eyes gleam wildly, the pity for this dog shining through, Silver could not imagine living in such a small space +

Zahm

"I like that name very much, thank you!" He also glanced at the lock, but never could figure out how it worked. "I've thought about it, but never tried."

Silver

+ He glanced around the side of the bars, and scraped at the floor in vain. He nudged the latch and stood up with his claws through the wire, wondering if getting his teeth into it would help any. +
~You'll tell me if any one comes?~
+ He began to chew the lock, powerful ivories making little or no dent in the metal +

Zahm

He nods, and looks about. All he could see was rows of dogs, for now. The humans weren't out yet.

The lock wasn't pressed down completely by the last human to fasten it, and it slid off when Silver nudged the latch. Several dogs near you begin barking when they hear the clank of metal against the cement, and many spot you. Zahm rears up to his hind legs to get a better view out one side of his kennel, then turns to Silver, "There are three humans coming now! They haven't taken lightly to what some other wolves have done here. Or, that's what I've heard anyway."

The latch is free from the lock, and only need to be pushed up so the door can swing open.

Silver

He sprang down immediately at Zahm's warning, his fur was standing up and his ears back. One human he could have taken, but he was no fool and three was too much. He looked into the cage, he didn't know how they worked so wasn't sure how to open it.

~Look.. I'm going to scarper past them, keep their attention off you, when you get out go down the isle and follow the fields. You'll come to a forest, cut straight through and on the other side it my pack. I'll wait for you.~

He smiled, barked once and bolted straight at the Humans, limbs racing and hear fluttering against his ribcage.

He had kept to the shadows, but when he got closer, he dodged in front of them, barked once and swerved to get past, racing across the concrete and towards the gate.

Zahm & Humans

He wasted no time, and once Silver had the humans’ attention, he reared up and threw his weight against the door. It rattled, but didn't open. Zahm tried again, and the latch slipped up, swinging the door open. Not hesitating, Zahm sped out of the area, keeping clear of the humans, and following the directions Silver had given him.

The humans were startled to find the wolf. He was so swift though, they were uncertain it was a wolf, and possibly a hybrid. One carried a noose-pole, and swung it at Silver, but missed. They had no chance of catching him.
