Saulk & Others
Velvet was moving slowly by the time she crested the last rise and her dark, almond eyes fell upon the snow-crusted expanse of ruins that lay ahead. The lion stood there for a beat or two, breathing heavily from the exertion of the climb and the struggle through dense snow that choked their path most of the way. "We're here." She announced a little breathlessly, then pushed forward on terrain that was thankfully more level.
Saulk, who had been following in Velvet's shadow, now picked up the pace to travel at her side. He scanned the snowy terrain for prints, and tested the air for odors, but no signs of life greeted him. The area seemed desolate and abandoned.
Leomar and Zanarah led the tail-end of the group, with Zanarah breezing up the path while Leomar was left panting and toiling with the efforts of the hike.
