Sideskill

Almost three weeks had passed since Sakura had been brought to the temple, and though the pup had not be killed in that time, she had not been treated with great care. There were times when she was left alone when the brothers went out to hunt, especially as Sundown refused to look after her at all, but if she ever tried to escape, the rough terrain and dangerously steep slopes would have prevented her from going far before one of the cats tracked her back down again. The only care provided to the youngster was the meager leftovers from Sideskill's meals, which were hardly enough to sustain a growing wolf pup.

Today, Sakura had been left by herself while Sundown had gone on another hunt, and Sideskill had departed on an undisclosed mission a little over an hour ago.

Sakura

Sakura was nto skin and bones but her ribs were showing and her legs occasionaly bothered her She lay where she usually laid chewing on a bone that she had left from the last little piece of leg she had had left. She wanted to go home, she ws so hungry.

Sundown

Time time had passed before the larger of the two felines returned. The end of Sundown's elongated muzzle was dabbed in crimson, and the scent of fresh blood preceded the big cat's entrance to the Temple, being carried in on a sharp wind. A freshly killed muskrat hung fro his jaws, swinging to and fro as the big cat sauntered into the darkness of the old stone building until Sundown settled down near one of the entrances. Taking his time, the hybrid feline turned his prey about under his paws, nosed at it a bit, then turned his attention to cleaning his fur before he'd enjoy his meal. Poor Sakura was given no attention, and certainly not offered so much as a scrap of meat from his kill.

Sakura

Sakura slowly stood up as she smelt blood, fresh blood. She needed food. The weak pup stood up and moved toward it and came to a halt as one of the brothers laid down with the kill and began grooming himself. At this point, she didn't fear death. It be better then this so she slunk toward him. As she knew he wasn't paying attention to her she attempted to grab the muskrat and pull it from him. If she got it she'd turn and run into a small crevic she had found that his paw would barely fit in.

Sundown

Sundown licked his paw and drew it along the side of his forehead, sweeping it carefully through his fur. He did this a few times before rolling more to his side so that he could begin to clean his hind leg, and a few clumps of drying mud that clung to it. He didn't even hear Sakura sneaking forward, nor did he see her until she'd gotten several feet away from him. "You little RAT!" The big cat roared, as his claws clacked harshly against the ground. He wheeled around and lashed a paw at the youngster, but she'd scrambled just out of his reach, and fled into a crevice, taking his prize with her. Sundown lunged forward and reached for Sakura, trying to wedge his paw into the hole and snag her with his curved claws, "Get out, you miserable whelp!"

Sakura

Sakura was just so ravenous that she risked death for the meal. She pushed her back against the wall and growled at him.Nope. Im hungry you don't share so I take what I wantShe said and began munching down on the meal. Her eyes watching his paw only inches from her. She could feel the breaze. She finished the meal in no time and for the first time in weeks she was full. She kicked the tail out at him and remained in the crevice.

Sundown & Sideskill

The big cat's roars echoed frighteningly within the stone confines of the old temple. He crouched down and tried again and again to wedge his paw through the whole, flexing his deadly claws and scraping at the rocks in hopes of snagging any part of Sakura. But the pup was just out of reach, and to his great fury, he Sundown could do nothing to stop her from devouring his meal. "You just made a grave mistake, mark my words." He'd finally stopped trying to claw Sakura out of her hiding spot, and now sat back on his haunches, peering down at the dark hole where she was hiding. "You can't stay in there forever. When thirst draws you out, you will replace that muskrat as my next meal." Sundown eased himself onto his belly, settling into a comfortable but alert posture, ready to wait out the little wolf pup.

Nearly an hour later, he was still there, idling his time when Sideskill returned. The smaller hybrid carried fresh wounds along his face, distinct punctures and two deep lacerations that could only come from the claws of another feline. A slight limp marred his steps, but despite his injuries, he carried himself up the steps and into the temple without much difficult, and padded towards his littermate. "What, is there a snake or something in that hole? Watch'a looking at?"

Sundown planed his ears out and didn't bother turning his head to look back at his brother. "No, a thieving rat."

Sakura

Sakura huffed at him and even nipped at his paw.Its not like your gonna feed me anyways. Your killing me anyways by starving me, Better to try something then just wait for my slow outcomeShe said. She heard the other brother and she snorted at Sundowns reply. Maybe i wouldn't have to steal if you actually fed meShe knew he was right now she'd either die of dehydration or him.

Sundown & Sideskill

The big cat hissed when he felt the pup's little teeth nip at his paw. He flexed his claws in response and tried to swipe at her again, before withdrawing and folding his forelegs in front of him. "You just sealed your fate is what you did. I should have eaten you back at the marsh-"

"Hey! You can't eat the pup, she's mine and I've spent what, three weeks now, keeping her alive?" Once Sideskill understood it was Sakura in the hole, and that his brother was keen on finishing her off, he pinned his ears back and gave his larger sibling a glare, "And I still need her!"

Sundown's tail lashed across the ground and his own ears went back, showing a quickly devolving temper, "To impress one of those she cats? I'm sure they're be real impressed that your looking after some flea-bitten whelp. I told you they're not going to be interested in that, and they'll think you a moron. And rightfully so."

"It will work, you'll see. Now get back, you're not going to eat this one! ..Come on, Sakura, come out of there." Sideskill shoved himself in front of his brother, ignoring Sundown's rumbling. "Come on, I'll catch you some food."

Sakura

Sakura yelped and licked her nose and just glared out the hole.Then Sideskill was in front of Sundown and she slowly crept out of the hole. Her body still of course rather skinny. She moved to be under Sideskill not trusting Sundown to try and grab her. She to a degree trusted Sideskill.
