Kraai was the first to arrive, gliding in through the wide enterance way and making his way to the main chamber. "Right in here, Quaidah will be with you in a moment." The raven explained, bowing his ebony head once more as he spoke to Hokee.
Sundown had indeed beat his brother back to the Temple, and wasn't shy about letting everyone know about this feat. "I told ya I was faster!" He boasted loudly, once again puffing his heaving chest out and lifting his tawny muzzle high. The posing didn't last long though, for Sideskill had taken a flying leap and tackled his brother a second later. The two wenting rolling head over heals, snarling and spitting and fighting each other like their lives depended on it. By all appearances, it looked as though they were really going for the kill.
Alfaim had wisely choosen not to engange in their petty arguement, and instead disappeared down the nearest hallway as she sought out her own siblings.
"Knock it off, you two!" Rumbled a wolverine as he plodded towards the wrestling brother. "Hey, did you hear what I said?" Santori rumbled louder when the two went on with their struggles. "Enough!" A snarling tone accompanied his voice, and it was enough to end the pointless debate of the cubs.
Dissengaging from each other, the two looked at the wolverine and instantly began to defend themselves, "He started it!" "Nu-uh, he tackled me first!" "He tackled me for no reason!" "No, you tackled me, you fuzz-brain, dog-clawed, litt-"
"Save it! I don't care who started it, I'm finishing it! Now, both of you go see your mother, now!" It seemed like he was doing this a million times a day. They were ridiculously loyal and protective of each other, but at the same time, they could and would fight about the most trivial things. Scowling hard at the twins, Santori watched as they gave in to his demands and sulked away.
The cougar padded in after Kraai and sat down on the ground. He looked around, but his gaze always seemed to land on the cubs eventually.
While Hokee waited, a cougaress padded into the main room, leading in a trio of wolf sisters. Light, silvery eyes flashed towards the male as she gave a warm smile. "A new member? My name is Lassoma." She greeted, before sitting back on her haunches and directing her attention on Carita and her sisters, "Quaidah will be along in just a moment."
To add to the bizarre mix of creatures in the Temple, an alligator came plodding slowly across the ground, her blunt head and long tail swinging slightly from side to side as she moved. "Hello." Akilli chirped, when she spotted the four new faces. Not pausing in her strides, she continued on until she reached a pool of water near the back side of the front room. Much like the Romans, the ancient people of the Valley had utilized the thermal vents in the region to create natural 'hot tubs'. With a contented sigh, the alligator submerged all but her snout in the warm waters. If not for these vents, she and the rest of the reptiles would not be able to survive the harsh winters.
"Uvah' 'ere." Came a raspy voice as a third strange creature revealed itself. A massive Alligator Snapping turtle was now making the trek across the main room, moving much slower than Akili had. Behind him were a squadren of more reptiles. Irrisorie and Raptor, two young alligators, Vigilante and Whip-Lash, two young komodo dragons, Night Star and Sickle, two caimen, and a large black timber rattler, Ventisshou.
"No' tuu lung nuw." Tekken was saying, as the gaggle of creatures clambered all around him. "Werm up 'en thun out. K?" The others seemed all too eager about the hot water to bother with the old turtle's warnings.
By the time the reptiles had reached the hot pool, Quaidah was making his way down a flight of stairs. He looked wolfish, but his muzzle and head were rather broad and a little blunt, and his chest wide. The top half of his right ear was floppy, and his eyes were a cool blue and round like a dog's. His color was a mixture of slate-gray, black, and sepia on top, with a white underside. A bit of ruddy-red marked his neck and sides.
Fluttering above him was Pepper, the little kestrel. And beside him strode the tortie tabby, Fiona. Moving slightly behind and to his side was the 600+ pound sow, Pheral. The only one missing from his chosen Officers was the young Vigilante, who needed to warm himself up in the pool still.
Quaidah came to a stop in front of Hokee and the others, bowing his head once and offering a kind smile to the four. "Welcome to the home of the Ancient Guardians. I am their leader, Quaidah." The hybrid left his words as that as he looked over each of them, patiently waiting for them to speak.
Hokee looked around at the strange group of creatures. He couldn't help but smile when he saw the gator. His mother had never mentioned such creatures. His attention was turned to Quaidah when the alpha male appeared. "Greetings, Quaidah." He said warmly. "I am Hokee. I would like to join your pack."
Carita, Grace and Faith were not far behind. The three stopped in front of the alpha and bowed. "I am Carita, daughter of Penguin and Luna. These are my sisters, Grace and Faith." She said cheerfully, her tail wagging.
Faith took a step forward, now standing in front of her sisters. "Our older brother's land was invaded by the Shadow Haunters a while back. I heard that you are against the Shadow Haunters."
A smile was kept on his muzzle as he listened to the responses from the four new members, "I am glad to have four new members. And yes, we are against the Shadow Haunters and any who impose free will in the Valley." Quaidah began to explain, setting down the ground rules of the group, "Our ultimate goal is to eliminate the Shadow Haunters, but we also wish to provide a safe haven for those who are victimised by the Haunters. We do not instigate attacks, though. Unless absolutely neccessary."
