Sasha was the first to the Temple, limping. She was followed by Saguaro, with Penny on her back.
Saguaro set the bird down, examining her wounds. "It appears as if a Healer used herbs on these wounds." She said, then made eye contact with Penny. "So who, exactly, did this to you?"
"A cheetah. A horrible cheetah snapped my legs broken." Penny replied.
"The cheetah...I have seen this one before." Sasha replied, keeping weight off her broken leg.
Saguaro examined Penny for a while. "Currently, I do not have the herbs to heal these wounds. I was not expecting a member to be injured so quickly." She looked at Sasha's leg. "Ouch. Keep weight off that leg. Once I get the proper herbs, I will fix that for you."
Bamboo left her room and approached the group. "I feared this would happen. I am capable of fighting, so I must help. Where is the war?" She asked.
Sasha limped to the doorway and pointed down the mountain. "Over there. At the Ruins. In the Temple."
Bamboo raced past them, running down the mountain.
The three returned not different from when they left. With a small nod to Penny, Draven turned and left to rest in one of the many rooms in the Temple.
Arctic sat down a little way away from the group, her eyes on Penny. The bird didn't seem to be thankful for the rescue. That mission could have cost each of them their lives if the Temple of the Haunted was full of the Shadow Haunters. Luckily for the rescuers, it wasn't.
Vulcan was the last to enter. The siberian tiger half smiled at the bird, but was thinking the same as Arctic, when he met her gaze across the room.
Penny watched as her rescuers entered the Temple. She stood up and walked closer to Vulcan, each step bringing pain. "You have helped save me, did you not?" She asked. "If it were not for you and your friends, I may have been killed. If there is anything I can do for you, just ask me."
Tuari soared into the Temple, landing next to his sister. He dipped his head respecfully to each of the big cats, then spoke to Penny. "Don't let the Haunters poison your mind. You seemed to be drifting away when we found you." He said, standing close to her.
His foot falls were silent, but the brooding tiger was growling lightly under his breath. He wouldn't tolerate it, and he was going to take this matter to Baphomet. The large tiger walked up to Arctic, and his eyes met hers with a dark intensity. In his own, you could see that fury burning so hot. Leave Rajsa alone. You understand? Sure, she was a Haunter. Theres your key word. Was. Her and I have been friends for a few years now. The Haunters? They would take away her cubs and she won't stand for it. Just like I won't stand for all of you tormenting her day and night because of what she was. The past is past. Get over it. The tiger turned, his entire body bristling with his fury.
Saguaro nodded as Wasteland spoke. "Just because somebody did bad things in the past doesn't mean they'll do them again. Phoenix has done bad things. Killed, actually. I forgave her, and now she's my best friend." She said, looking from Wasteland to the other cats. She moved next to Wasteland. "If anyone touches the tiger or her cubs, they come to me. I don't care how much she 'deserved it' or whatever. You touch her, you pay." She stood tall and brave, chomping her tusks together.
She kept her cubs close to her at all times afraid that someone might kill or steal them especially if a haunter showed up.She cleaned Faint snow at the moment.
Calvin glared at Wasteland. "So who died and made you king?" He snorted, stepping in front of him. "If you don't want anyone bothering the Haunter, tell her to go to the pack of one of our allies." He didn't show one bit of fear, even though he was in the reach of a big cat's mouth.
She growled lightly as she heard the commotion and carefully stepping over her cubs."for the millionth time im not a haunter"SHe snarled getting angry with this pathetic beast.
Calvin snorted at Rajsa. "Yeah...We've been through this before, Haunter!" He snapped. "We all know very well that you're a spy." He stopped forward and looked at her, narrowing his eyes. "Can you prove to me that you're on our side? And don't just say 'I'm not a Haunter' like you always do. Prove it!" He himself was getting quite angry with Rajsa, and the way she told others that she would only listen to her superiors if she wanted to. She was like a delinquent child.
God this male was stupid!"Lets see its been how many months since i seen the last sights of them? Why would I tell you that you should find allies and warn the valley about their devious ways! How pathetic can you be?She didn't listen to her surperiors all the time because she was a solitary creature by nature but she liked wasteland and hated risen. "If I was a true haunter i would still be with them and i would not have my cubs when they turn 2 months old they would be gone!"She snarled.
Calvin stomped his hoof. "That does not prove anything! How do we know that you have not been given special privileges because you're Risen's little pet?!" He stepped even closer, staring into Rajsa's eyes. "What you say does not change my view of you. What you do changes my view of you."
She growled as he said little pet."I am no ones pet! If you so upset that I'm NOT a haunter then you go and stays omewhere else cause i'm not leaving"SHe turned around and went back to her cubs.He was the only one to be like this to her hell even the leader didn't bother her.
Calvin snorted and shook his head. "You really think you're going to make me leave?!" He spat. "Well think again, foolish cat." He stayed where he was, staring at her with a piercing glare. "If you don't want to be treated like a Haunter, why did you join them in the first place?!"
She sighed lightly and glanced back."Because I followed another old friend named Shetan thinking that I could get my own land and pack but later on I found out what they did to other females and packs and Left them and then just wondered"
Calvin was about to charge when Lily rammed into his side. "I told you to leave the cat alone!" She cried will her shrill, deafening voice.
Calvin stepped back. He had no problem with bothering one he disliked, but he didn't want to bother his sister. He stepped back, but kept his eyes on Rajsa. "You win this time, Haunter Cat. You and your demon children." He snorted.
Saguaro stood in front of Calvin. "Oryx, you leave the cat alone. It's three against one now, and you're going to lose."
Calvin snorted at the Javelina. "You know what, pig, you don't want to face me or my horns, so mind your own business."
Lily wanted so badly to put Calvin in his place, but she didn't want to risk going up against a male oryx. She stood between him and Rajsa, hoping to keep fights from occurring.
She growled showing her fangs."Mine and Wastelands cubs are not demons. If anyone is one its you. You know what right now you are acting like a haunter!"She snarled."I do not act like a haunter nor am I one."She snarled."When my cubs are full grown you will not want to mess with me oryx!"
Calvin raised his front legs and brought them to the ground with great force. "You call me a demon, yet you are the one who is a Haunter!" He spat. "Oh, I am acting like a Haunter? Defending my herd and doing what is right makes me a Haunter? Using your logic, everyone who is not a Haunter is a Haunter, while everyone who is a Haunter is not a Haunter. So, fine. Call me a Haunter all you want, but that doesn't make it any more true. I have never been a member of that stupid pack and never will be. Unlike you, Haunter." He pulled his head back as Rajsa made her most recent comment. "How do you know I will not want to mess with you?! I have killed lions and tigers and all kinds of predators, dear, so don't make stuff up about me."
Lily snorted at her brother. "Calvin, if you couldn't kill me, I would send you to a different pack!" She snapped.
Saguaro looked at all three of them. "Alright! Let's settle the fight! You're both good and you're both perfect and whatever, so stop it! Everyone! Nobody touches the tiger, and the tiger touches nobody! Got it?!" Her temper was growing, especially now that Phoenix wasn't here to defend her.
She snarled at him and shook her head."You protecting your herd agianst noone? You may of killed my kind but you cannot kill five or even six on one fool!"SHe snarled."Now If you damn stupid oryx will mind your own business"She shook her head again and moved back to her cubs and began to clean them
Calvin shook his head. "I beg to differ." He replied, trying to keep from attacking. "I have killed many before. Several humans, and several cats. All at the same time." He rushed in front of Lily and Saguaro when the tiger made her last remark. "If I will mind my business, you will do what?! You will kill Lily and I in our sleep?! And yes, I am defending my pack from somebody. And that somebody is a lying, evil Haunter." He was about to attack, but Lily intervened once more. Calvin felt a sharp pain when the gemsbok's horn went into his thigh. He pulled himself away and glared at his adopted sister. "You...You little...We're supposed to be allies, Lily!" He exclaimed.
"I'm sorry, but I had to do that to get my message across. Leave the tiger alone, or face the consequences." Lily said strictly. She knew Calvin best, so she knew how to 'punish' him.
Saguaro stepped in front of the oryx again, chomping her jaws together as a warning.
"i wouldn't kill lilly cuz she understands and feels that i'm not a haunter. I will only kill those who are a threat to me and my family oryx!"She growled.
Calvin tossed his head, displaying his long horns. "I am a threat to your family?! Pardon me, but I think it's the other way around!" He snapped angrily.
Lily snorted, glaring at Calvin and ramming him with her head. But the male wouldn't budge.
Suddenly, Sasha limped to the group. Her anger was apparent. "Are we not allies?!" She snapped, looking especially at Calvin, though sparing a few glances to the others. "We have set out to destroy the Haunters, but we are only destroying each other! As much as I hate to say it, every single member of this pack is being foolish. Oryx, come with me. Phoenix will see that you cause no more trouble. I know I sound bossy, but it's for the best. I'm only trying to keep you from murdering each other." Having said this, she walked out of the Temple.
Calvin snorted, but followed. The deer had made an interesting point. Lily stayed, as she felt that Rajsa might not mind her here. Saguaro, however, followed Calvin and Sasha.
She listened and watched and then groomed her cubs."Thank you lily"
Lily nodded. "You are quite welcome." She replied. She walked a ways away and kept a lookout, to make sure her overprotective brother would not come back and mess things up.
Lily looked back at Rajsa. "I am sorry; I should go home now." She said softly. "But perhaps we will meet up later." With that, she bowed and walked out of the Temple.
