Cavan

Cavan felt his will was going out of him with every breath he took. His mate was long gone, and their only pup that survived was now dead. What a great father he had been, pah. The haggard wolf let himself come to rest at the edge of a jagged cliff edge. He had no intentions of jumping off it, although the thought of death was surprisingly less formidible than he had once thought of it. Still, he couldn't abandoned life while he still had Nachi. And, of course, Jais. Jais had to be taken care off.

Resting his scarred face just inches from the cliff's hazardous edge, Cavan closed his eyes and fell into a troubled dreamland.

Bagre

The large wolf had picked up on his foe's scent once again and a smirk played out across his muzzle. Stepping along with infinite stealth and grace, Bagre stole himself nearer to the dozing Cavan. He knew of the wolf's handicaps, and planned to exploit them to their fullest. Keeping to Cavan's deaf side, Bagre snuck in as close as he dared before suddenly charging forward and trying to slam into the wolf and send him off the cliff.

Cavan

Cavan didn't hear the other approach, and was only awakened when something forceful slammed against his side. With a great snarl, Cavan scrambled his feet and swung his jaws blindly around to bite at his agressor. But in the midst of these swift actions, his body was thrown to the very edge of the cliff. A flashback of Quamia came flooding into his mind as his paws kicked out at the yeilding air, giving him no support to stop his sudden decent.

It all happened so quickly that Cavan hardly had time to get a look at the wolf who had assailed him before his plunged out of sight, snarling and kicking as he went. Luckily, the cliff face sloped out here and there. Cavan's hurtling body slammed into these outreaching faces of rock, slowing his fall and sending him into an unstoppable roll down the edge of the cliff as it began to even out more. Rocks, big and small, tumbled along with Cavan as he reeled head over paws down the slope, feeling his body get smashed, gouged, and broken against the hard ground as he tumbled. When he finally came to rest, a great cloud of dust had rose around him, billowed up by a gentle breeze. Everything seemed to be spinning and his whole body was wracked with pain.

Slowly, jerkily, the wolf eased his sore head skyward and blinked his good eye against the dusty that misted around his scarred muzzle and face. He could see Bagre and a snarl separated his bloodied lips. But as Cavan went to stand, wretched pain and a feeble weaknest stole through his body and forced him back to the ground, cringing in agony over his broken body. I deserve this... The broken wolf thought miserably, thinking about Miki Suka and their three lost pups. And surprisingly, he thought of Quamia now. A horrible guilt came to him as he thought of her smashed and broken bones at the bottom of the Canyon.

Bagre

Bagre laughed heartily, then let his great mirth rise into a triumphant howl as he saw the damage done to his enemy. "You should have never messed with my family. Stealing a pup... that's low." The massive brute went on, his eyes blazing down at the fallen Cavan. Still, he was not one for torturing others, and felt leaving the wounded wolf lay there was senseless. On the same note, he wanted to be sure Cavan was dead, so that no retaliation could strike back at him or his family.

Bagre began to climb down from the cliff, going a ways around the initial drop off to where there was sufficiant footing. The going was steep, but he had found a well enough trail that his wolvish paws could travel with relative safety. After several minutes, the wolf finally made it down to the area where it had taken Cavan several seconds of falling to get to. His ruff was expanded in all its glory while his tail was raised high. "I'm afraid, this is where the trail ends for you." Without wasting any more time, Bagre lunged for Cavan's throat.

Hidden Betrayal

And my words will be here when I’m gone
As I’m fading away against the wind
And the words you left me linger on
As I’m failing again now, never to change this

And I’m sympathetic,
never letting on I feel the way I do
As I’m falling apart again at the seam

And it seems I’m alone here, hollow again
As I’m flailing again against the wind
And the scars I am left with swallow again
As I’m failing again now, never to change this

Suddenly the black wolfess lunged from her hiding place. She had seen what Bagre had done and it angered her. For even though Tupit had been her friend what Bagre was doing to her packmate was just as low. A flash of fangs and a loud snarl escaped her as she leaped at the male with all the force her body could muster. She was young this was true but she was stroung and had lived with Ghost and Aaka. Both were great assets on her side. She snapped her teeth shut trying to get a grasp on the male to get him away from Cavan. No the male did not deserve this. Even though Cavan was not a friend he certainly was not an enemy.

Cavan

Cavan had tried to picked himself up, seeing his doom in the form of Bagre's cunning fangs. Yet the wolf's body was too broken and winded, leaving him more or less helpless. Still, he tucked his head and bared his own cruel iviores as the other rushed for his throat. It came as a total shock to see Hidden rush past, putting herself in harm's way to help him.

Wincing, the broken wolf gathered his limbs under his torn form and managed to push his front end up, where he felt less vulnerable. His good eye stared in disbelief at the young femme, not at all sure about what to do. Well, there wasn't much he could do in his state, besides pray that Hidden managed to fend Bagre away.

Bagre

The wolf was quite surprised when an unknown canine hit him from the front, just before he was to reach Cavan. Feeling fangs sink into his chest, Bagre sprung back with a snarl, wrenching himself from the furious female while offering her a swift snap of his own jaws. "What is this? Some vigilante?" Bagre growled, holding himself back from attacking, for he was not willing to tangle with someone who had done him no wrong.

Hidden Betrayal

She bristled and lowered her head low her bright yellow eyes watching him. She carried a haunted look but that didnt mean anything. Her fur stood on edge and she said in a dark tone "Cavan is no friend of mine but he is my packmate." She growled at the male as she felt blood trickle from a small wound that he had caused her but payed no mind to it. She would heal. She stalked closer to Bagre and even though she was small it wasnt wise to mess with an angry female. Her yellow eyes glowed not with the fire that it once had but with hollow anger that she barely felt. It would make no sense to someone else but it made perfect sense to her.

Bagre

Bagre growled deeply, his eyes staring hard into Hidden Betrayal's. "A packmate of yours? We hold an old grudge, so lest he and his kin learn to stay within their borders, he will be packmates with the worms." The large wolf threatened, not at all willing to let his quarrels with Cavan end here. Yet he wasn't going to attack a she wolf, unless the situation was dire in some way. So with a gruff sigh, he turned from the two and loped away.

Cavan

He watched Hidden with silence at first, contemplating what his fate might be. "Have you saved me, for your own pleasures? To tear my throat out?" Cavan's words were like a sinister hiss; not exactly the thankful, sincere sort of tone that he should be talking in to the wolf that just saved his life. The deep grief of his son's lost burned so fresh and strong in his heart that he had no room left to comprehend good intentions from others. The only one left that he cared for and trusted was his sister, who was quite mad in head.

Hidden Betrayal

She growled softly and stalked closer getting right into his face "Listen here Cavan. I just did you a favor. I dont want to kill you. Your not worth my time. I should just leave you here but then no body would be left to take care of Nachi?" She stared hard at him her bright yellow eyes glaring at him. She was angry that was easy to tell. She was furious that was even easier to tell. She would kill him if he continued provoking her. But suddenly something came over her and her eyes began to become hollow once more.

Cavan & Jais

He stirred at the mention of his sister, "Nachi is fine." But even as he said it, he knew that if he died, his sister would be pushed much further into insanity. Cavan tried to stand, but gritted his teeth at a nagging pain that coursed through his hind limbs, holding him down. The pain ran down his spine and into his gut, making him wince at the agony. His vision swam, but he managed to speak again, "You've done more than I deserve." The wolf turned his good eye down, partly because he could hardly stand to let Hidden see the pain that was torturing him. He was quite sure she didn't care, but he still detested showing weakness to anyone, whether they were friend or enemy.

Wind had brought Cavan's scent to his only living brother, who happened to be in the area. Normally, the scent would have driven Jais to change course, but this time he did not. Bagre's howl alerted the white wolf that all was not well. As bad as their relationship was, Jais couldn't bare to let his brother die if he could help it, even though Cavan would gladly murder Jais if he ever got the chance.

Moving swiftly Jais came to the cliff where Cavan had fallen. Quietly, he peered down at his wounded brother and she wolf, trying to figure out the situation without intruding.

Risen

Gray small female trotted into the land. Eyes set forth, searching for the creature creating the scent she had followed. Slowly the vision of her rival came into view and she slowed to a walk. Ears held fast to her head as she approached. She let her self approach Hiddens blind side and introduced herself with a low growl. Yellow eyes piercing right up to where Hiddens would be if she were facing her. Hackles rose only slightly, everything in her body made her want to lunge at the female before her. But she had to remember the true reason she was here. And she hoped this female had the information.

Dally

The peregrine falcon was soaring high above Risen, so high that his form would be hard for wolvish eyes to detect. He could see for over a mile all around him, with great detail; that's how keen his vision was. One of the best, if not the best in the animal word. Once Risen had stopped her trek, Dally glided slowly earthward, fighting against the fierce winds that howled around the mountain's side. He alighted on the white branch of a tall sycamore tree that towered over the ground atop the cliff. From there, he waited like a hooded spy, his eyes scanning every movement that passed nearby. Nothing would sneak up on Risen without Dally seeing it first. And of course, he still kept a lookout for Heaven.

Hidden Betrayal

She snarled and leaped away from Risen. She had done her good deed why were more coming. She kept backing away from Risen her hackles raised bright yellow eyes glaring at Risen with hatred. She just wanted to be left alone. Why couldnt they see that she just wanted peace and quiet....And to join in the fight. She would die and she knew it. But she would die for Tupit. She watched the small fae growling low in her throat. "Leave me be. I just want to be left alone" But she didnt turn and run. She stayed and stared straight at Risen daring her to come closer. She wasnt in the mood to deal with other wolves.

Risen

She smirked. White fangs glistening, holding her head and tail up staring right back into Hiddens eyes. " Weakling, I always knew you would have a sad downfall. I can still see it, Although I'm starting to fear that it's not going to be by my fangs that you will be pushed into submision." She tossed her head. And took a step forward. Daring Betrayal to attack. "I'm not here to play mind games, whimp. I'm here to ask you if you know of a white Arctic wolf. A puppy, perhaps around the age of one. She might look like she just got into a fight." She smirked and squinted her eyes. Her father's colors showed clearly through her.

Hidden Betrayal

She growled at Risen. Suddenly recognition poured through her as she heard the other fae disgrace her. She growled and stalked towards the fae her anger radiating off of her. "I dont like other wolves Risen. I only will put up with them for so long." It was clear that she was talking of Risen herself. The fae growled softly then turned to Cavan "This isnt over. You owe me." She backed away never taking her eyes off of Risen. She was going to the Eskers to fight.

Risen

Her eyes never left Betrayals either, when the fea dissapeared she turned to Cavan with a questioning look. " Have you seen the wolf i've just described?"

Cavan

He narrowed his good eye but held back a snarl that might get him into more trouble than he already was in, "I've not see such a wolf, sorry." His 'sorry' was more along the lines of sarcasm than of sincerity.

Risen

She growled back to him. Eyes narrowed to their slits. Standing she held her breath and snarled an order. " If you see such a wolf, You report it to the alleys." And with that she turned and left.

Dally

The peregrine falcon soon took off, once again resuming his search for the snow-washed wolf. There was a hefty price to pay for assault a member of the Shadow Lurkers.
