Nhosh & Herd
The group of strange deer headed up the mountian side, with Nhosh taking the lead. His main antler beams, bare of any tines, stood out glistening in the sun. The velvet had been wiped away, leaving the hard bone exposed and ready for defense.
He led his herd and friend along a narrow path and finally came to stop near an area where several huge boulders were strewn about. There were interconnecting pits and passageways under the boulders, providing an excellent place for hundereds of hibernating rattlesnakes to live. And soon, as they did every year, a group of humans would come to gas out the chamber and catch all the snakes they could for their 'show'. The snakes would be killed for amusement and be turned into all sorts of things, from belts to little trophies.
Nhosh turned to the others, "They should come before dusk; or that's what the snake said. I'm not sure what weapons they may have, but it's not only humans we must watch for. The snakes will be numerous here, so we've got to be careful where we tred, or risk an accidental bite."
Free Spirit
Free Spirit listened intently to Nhosh's words. Talk about unfair! Those humans needed to be punished! And if they don't, who will? Free Spirit stamped the ground hard with a hoof, "Those two-leggeds need to be taught a lesson," he said as he then grinned evily, "in pain." he finished. He looked around, alert for any of the snakes.
*Humans*
The scent of humans began to drift towards the assembled creatures.... it's unclear of how many there are, but they'll be here soon....
