*Scent*

The scent of fresh cow meat hung on the air...

Saluki and Salsa

Fetale ran this way as she smelt the meet.She was carring hre pup.Though her pup wasnt weaned yet but she didnt dear leave her alone.She followed the scent.

*Scent*

The scent led on a little ways up the mountain until the source was finally revealed. The leg of a cow. It was strange to see such a thing on the mountain, but there didn't appear to be any human tracks around. Human scent lingered faintly in the area, but it could be old.

The leg was laying near a leg... the ground looked slightly disturbed near the log.

Saluki

Being cautious she let her pup down and ventured slowly closer.She sniffed right around the leg and nudged it roughly as if it were alive or somethin.She carefully placed her pawas in certian places.

*Trap*

As Saluki moved about and sniffed near the leg, her front left paw stepped into one of the three leg-hold traps surrounded the meat! The trap sprang shut around her front paw and clamped tightly, leaving no way for her to pull free.

Salukie

Female wolf yelped and tryed to pull free.She struggled violently for awhile before laying down out of breath.She whined.

Salsa;the little pup stayed where she was and cryed ot her mother .She was to frightened to go to her mother.She was in clear sight.

*Raven*

Spotting all the commotion, a raven glides down from the skies and lands in a nearby tree. She bobs her head and gets a good look at the situation before speaking, "You've gotten stuck in a trap? That's a bad deal." She clicked her beak and shook her head before flapping down to the ground, a few feet from Salukie. "Maybe you have friends or family that I can find for you?"

Saluki

She lifts her dial as a raven lands.She whines alittle not wanting to die."the only family i have is my pup"She points her nose to the little pup cowering a few feet away from the trap

salsa:she was cowering and crying.

*Raven*

She hops a bit closer when Saluki offers no aggression. Being a mother herself, the sleek ebony bird felt sorry for the wolf and her youngster. "I wish I could undo that trap for you, but I'm afraid I cannot. Is there anything I can help you with? Perhaps I could try to find a wolf and get it to help you?" She offered.

Saluki

"yes someone please"she whined
salsa:she whined

Humans*Raven

The raven gave a cry and took to the air as footfalls came up the path. She rose circling into the sky, shrieking, "Here they come! They come for you!" And she disappeared.

A slender young man of about twenty came up the hill. Cresting the top, he spotted the pup and eyed her with pleasure in his eye that only greed could bring. He hadn't yet spotted the female, but trotted straight to the pup, lifting her into the air and examining her teeth and nails.

Salsa

The pup growled as she was lifted up by her scruff.She pawed at him trying desperatly to get away.She showed her fangs all right.

Salukie;hearing her pup growl she stood up weak from exaustion and she glared at the two legged and tryed to get at himmmmm.She snarled aggressivly and tryed desperatly to get out of the trap and to her pup.

Human

He was pleased with the pup's spirit, and hefted her carefully. He would have walked on, then, but the mother came forward and caught his eye. Greed flashed again and he eyed her with a professional look. Making up his mind, he aimed a swift kick at her ribs, hoping to further weaken her.

Vicious

The wolf had finally found the scent of a human. Quickly as the male kicked to the wolf's ribs. He jumped and bit at the humans neck. But for some odd reason, he just made it to were the bite would only render the human harmless and in deep pain. If he would hit, the human would be consious. but in to much pain to move.

Saluki

She whimpered as she was kicked but lunged at him attempting to his leg.Fangs were bared.

salsa:she struggle growling.

Human

The boy hadn't even seen the other wolf, but reeled back reflexively. The wolf's blow landed on the boy's shoulder, tearing through muscle and tendons as the wolf fell away, leaving that shoulder useless. He readjusted his grip on the pup, transfering her to under his arm, and scooped up a tree branch in the other hand. This he swung down with all his might upon the muzzle on the female at his leg.

Vicious

He jumped away then as the human swung at the female he jumped with his large jaws to the humans side. Wanting to tear out his guts.

Saluki

She snarled and whimpered off.Shaking her dial she charged again though this time she was pulled down by the trap. >[? salsa:she whined and struggled.

Humans

The boy let out a cry as fangs and claws scored his side, and he dropped the pup. Scowling, he let out a shrieking whistle. The whistle brought another boy, slightly older than the first, this one carrying a gun. This new boy stood carefully, attempting to get a shot at the wolf without hitting his friend. Still, by the looks of the first boy, he wouldn't be standing long.

Salukie

One thing she knew about was guns.When the gun was in vision she tryed to run for cover but fell down from the trap.

salsa:she ran into the woods and hid in some bushs.

Vicious

The wolf growled and bit down harder as the boy whistled. He could hear the rustling of the boy comming up to them. With a sharp growl he glared at the female in the trap, then quickly bit at the boys throat. Knowing the boy was down, and almost out. He bit as hard as he could then lept from the human and ran into very tall grass. Too bad for the wolf in the trap.

His act made him seem as if he had run away, but that was not it at all. He went a few good hundred yards. The grass well over his back. He was hidden from anything on the ground. He waited and circled around the party, trying to get to the other boys blind side. Trying to not make any noise. He stayed the same distance, but moved. Waiting for the boy to let his guard down and aid the smaller boy, dead or alive.

Humans

The first boy's whistle brought their father, who took the gun from his son and shot at the retreating wolf. As that wolf disappeared, the boy took a rope and looped it over the struggling wolfess's head. He was young, but strong, and was perfectly capable of dragging her along. But just for safety, he clubbed her over the head before he cut the trap free. He then dragged her over to the side and grabbed up the pup. The father scooped up his injured younger son and they started off, heading for the pits.

Saluki

The fem was knocked out by the blow.

Salsa:she growled and attempted to bite him where ever she could.

Vicious

He growled at the leaving humans. Then threw his head up and walked away. The bullet missed, and he hated that the humans were gone, but no matter. he would find more.
