Rocky Road
The large beast made his way slowly into the area, burdened by the yearling cow he carried behind him. Dargging it underneath a sheltering, low branched tree he dropped it carelessly. He sat and panted, he had came a long way with the prize. He sat there for a while, regaining his strength, and was soon up again. He circled the meat once before finding a good place to began feeding, gratefully tearing the the meat away to chew. He soon relaxed into a laying poisiton, but he never stopped looking around him as he chewed.
Twilight Reign
The black-coated hybrid had picked up the scent of fresh blood. His sides were gaunt and his eyes flashed with hunger, but he was extremely timid and reluctant about approaching others. Picking his way along the unneven terrain, Twilight trailed after the beckoning scent.
After stepping gingerly through the last set of plants that obscured him from Rocky's vision, the hybrid stood stock still and looked towards the much larger canine. His head dropped down but his ears were perked up. Twilight made no move and said nothing.
Rocky Road
The St Bernard hybrid was quite large, inheriting his awesome size from each. He was almost as wide around as the cow he ate now, but certainly not as tail or long. His coat laid in a mess now as he went through the transition of his winter coat to summer. But anyone could tell his true color was a grayish black roan, though he held a black mask on his face. As he ate wicked fangs flashed and scars were still visible (though smaller) on his face. As the other came into his vision he immidently jumped up to a hover over his meal, the cow inbetween him and the black. Hackles raised and throat rumbled with a warning growl. He was not a friendly one, accustomed to attacking most canines (or any beast in that matter) that he met.
He noticed how small he was compared to him, and also how his skinny body helped with that fact. Rocky Road was not all fat either, but any guantess he had was covered by his coat. But he still held hunger, a hunger for fresh meat, not for the sorry excuses he recently had to feed on.
So there he hovered, his growling going up and down considering on what he was thinking then or the other's movements. he did not say anything either, but he certainly did nto look inviting.
Twilight Reign
Twilight pulled his ears back, but in a move surprising for his meek nature, he flashed his fangs in a disdainful manner. Still, his back was arched up in fear and his brushy tail was held low as he took a few steps back. "That's an awful lot of food." The hybrid pointed out, flashing a look to Rocky Road.
His gaze was fleeting, moving from the canine to his dinner as his stomach rumbled. The ache of starvation was the thing driving his usually placid nature to a more striving one. The smell of the flesh comsumed him, baying him to linger near.
Rocky Road
He growled louder when he flashed his own fangs but softened as he showed submissive behavior. Eyes watched his every move, floppy ears back in distrust. They twitched when he spoke, but hsis mouth moved into a snarl, his lips prefectly framing his fangs in a wicked way. He lowered his head and continued munching at the leg he was at, his growl stified and then died as his mouth became full. Eyes constantly watched the other, and it looked like if he was just going to ignore the hungry beast. But suddenly and with another growl he suddenly jerked the leg away from the cow's body and threw it several yards to the right of himself. He eased back into his intial position and began eating again, his growl gone again. Hackles and tail were still raised but he was silent now, besides the sound of him chewing and tearing his meat. Eyes still watched the other, but almost in curiosity. This wasn't the first time he fed another.
Fallen
Black femme trotted into the land. Head was turned when she smelt the scent of food. Limbs took her unconciously to the food area. But slowed when she saw the large brute eating the cow. Her ears held back in confusion for a second, then lowered her head and looked at the food. Her head lowered in a respectful bow, then she spoke softly. "If you have food the that size, your going to attract attention." She didn't growl, didn't give any sign of hatred. She was one of the lowest wolves. If she were in a pack, she would be the most submissive out of all.
She stayed with her head down, tail between her legs. Eyes shifted to the submissive brute who seemed to be hungry. Though both smelt of hybrid while she was pure wolf.
Rocky Road
Rocky raised his head again as another beast approached. As he spotted the wolfess he growled again, louder this time. He was again at his hover, he was not going to feed another. Hackles were raised again to full height and tail perpendicular to his back. She spoke and his growling subsided just enough so he could hear her.
His voice was gruff as he spoke, "What? Do you want some too?" She was quite right though, the yearling was a bit much for him. But 'real food' wasn't the only reason why he went after it. The humans disliked him hunting in their fields, just a reason why he did so. But they seemed to get more upset over a cow then a sheep, so he went for the cows.
Twilight Reign
He was very surprised by Rocky Road's generosity and quickly sprung at the leg, taking it up in his slender jaws. The hybrid stole away a few more feet and dropped the meat. His ears came up and his body relaxed a bit. He stood silent for a time, then spoke, "Thanks." his tone was sincere, if not a bit awkward.
As he began to feed ravenously on the meat, his senses alerted him of the newcomer. Twilight paused halfway through his meal and looked to Fallen.
Fallen
The she wolf looked through bleeding orbs to the large brute protecting his food like it was gold to a king. Haunches let her down into a sit. She stared at the cow, then to the thinner, more small male. He fed just as determind as the larger one. Slowly she turned her thin head to Rocky.
"If I shall eat anything, It would be left overs. And since i have nothing better to do, I can wait here until you are finished, and have the scrapes you not longer want."
Rocky Road
The beast only gave a brief look to acknowledge he heard the other's thank you. He silently listened to the other and growled. There was things he could tolerate but he just hated a starving animal AND being watched as he ate. He snapped another leg off and threw it the opposite direction with another gruff growl. He turned back to his own meal, softly but still gruffly, "I won't have you watching me".
He was stubbornly silent after that, only his hackles rising and falling as he ate.
Fallen
She stood as it was thrown but waited a moment. Slowly she padded over to the other leg and watched the brute. Giving a questionable look then she lowered down and began to chew. Waiting for a growl of dissaproval.
Rocky Road
The female was ignored, only granted a brief glance from the male before he began to feed again. This began to be quite a group. Hoepfully they weren't not planning to stay long, he wasn't good company to canines too weak to hunt for themselves.
Fallen
She finished what she could. The last thing she ate was a sheep. She wasn't weak, but a free meal was better then hunting for one herself. She backed from her food and looked to the two hybrids. She nodded a thanks to Rocky, then continued on her way.
Rocky Road
Well, he didn't much like scavengers either. But he knew what it felt like to be hungry, and he knew he couldn't stand it. So the beast had a heart, somewhere hidden among his anger, hate, and love of killing.
The brief movement of her nod caught his attention, eyes darting up to hers. He snarled softly before tearing another piece from the cow. With two legs missing and much of the torso gone from his own almost ravenous eating, you could hardly tell it was once a fine yearling.
He moved into a hovered up position, tearing large chunk from the animal. He left only the head and the meat on the cow's spine, holding the rest in his mouth. He gave a final growl to the darker hybrid and loped off, being once again alone.
