Blackmist
Blackmist honestly wasn't sure whether they'd find anything or not, but that truly wasn't her goal today. What she wanted was to get Ursa out of the Temple and get some fresh dirt beneath her paws. Her friend had languished too long with little to do, and had lost the purpose in her life. Blackmist wanted to restore that.
"Keeping up okay, Ursa?" The wolfess looked back, dark yellow orbs inspecting her friend for any sign of fatigue. They pivoted then to the rocky land around them, which was slowly growing more even as they traveled away from the Ruins and towards the foothills of the mountain. "It was right down here where Silver Fyre picked up a bit of the scent a few days ago, but we couldn't track it."
Ursa
Ursa hiÄ£hly doubted that taking her out of the rùins was sanctioned. She snorted as she tried to keep up but she could barely see and didnt know the terrain. "Im fine" she lied. Her nose was already
Blackmist
Whenever she saw Ursa struggling, Blackmist would slow down and brush a shoulder or tail against the other, silently letting her know she was still nearby. Black was also exceedingly careful to direct her friend down safer paths, and always put herself between Ursa and any drop-offs or loose scree that might send her tumbling. "Just let me know if you need to rest."
Onward the wolfdog went, zig-zagging down the slopes until the ground began to level even more, and the occasional scent of oil drifted on the wind. The lonely highway that snaked along the edge of these mountains was nearby, and it was somewhere along here that the strange scent was once located. "If you hear a loud rumbling, don't worry - the humans sometimes travel with their thunderbugs on a trail a quarter mile from here. But the thunderbugs never leave the trail, so we're safe from them."
