Lupanare
Cream-hued paws carried the wolfdog along a shallow slope, zig-zagging slowly along until she found a well-used deer trail that would be easier for Darkia to navigate. With her plume held lightly behind her and her silvery-tan head held upwards, Lupa's fur almost glowed in the light of the sun. Notes of rich caramel and deep tans played against the paler backdrop of creams and light grays along her back, giving the hybrid a unique and eye-catching look. But Lupa was not out here to impress anyone today; today, the united Haunters had the task of finding their missing brethren.
Lupanare waited at the edge of the deer trail for Darkia to catch up. Letting her nose analyze the wind, she scoured the branches above for any of the birds that use to live amongst the Haunters, or any stray birds for that matter that she might be able to speak to and ask for help in locating the others.
Darkia & Tracey
Darkia snorted as she followed Lupe up the mountain having little to no trouble. Her ears twitching at the sounds.
Tracey a female Harpy was sitting on a branch preening herself when she watched a wolf and horse come up the deer trail. well ain't that a strange site a horse and wolf together? She said.
Lupanare
Lupanare stopped short upon hearing the voice. It didn't take but a moment to pinpoint the crested raptor perched in the branches of a nearby tree, and one that was larger than Dally. The beak and claws told her those was definitely a predatory bird, "You mustn't know about the Shadow Haunters, then?" Lupa sauntered closer to the tree, craning her head upward at the avian. "My friend Darkia and I are on patrol in this area. You live around here?"
Tracey
Tracey pruned her feathers as she eyed the wolf. Packs don't much interest me wolfShe said.yes this is my territory, your lucky your a wolf and horse or i'd be pissedShe said.
Darkia watched the eagle curiously.
Lupanare
Lupanare settled back on her haunches to better look up at the eagle without craning her neck. A grin spread across her long muzzle, amused by the raptor's attitude. "We're no threat to you or your home, m'am." The wolfess started, wanting to avoid any confrontation with Tracey, and start off on the right paw, "Packs may not interest you, but how about guaranteed meals and security? And, a slight expansion of your territory?"
Tracey
She eyed the wolf.i know your no threatShe said calmly.Hmm, I have no problems catching my own meals and I dont eat from already dead things. But im listeningShe said.
Lupanare
"You look to be quite the huntress, I can see where the offer of a free meal wouldn't interest you." Lupa complimented, hoping that flattery might help to butter this bird up. "Then how about this; guaranteed backup and support for any sort of trouble you might get into. You would have prime territory at the Ruins where we live, and any other eagle who challenged you would be dealt with by us, if you requested the help. There's no humans there, and should you have young, no predator would dare harm them with us around. The only thing we ask for in return is for you to occasionally help us scout the land around us."
Darkia & Tracey
Darkia watched the bird.
Tracey calmly listened to the wolf. So no one would exactly be trying to tell me what to do? I wouldn't have to do something I wouldn't want to?She said calmly.
Lupanare
"More or less." Came Lupanare's answer, "We mainly need you to scout our territory. You might be asked on occasion to survey an area for us, or to keep an eye on some group or individual - but most of the time, you'd be free to do as you wished." There was the possibility of fighting as well, but the wolf did not want to spook away this potential new scout, so she refrained from even bringing that one up yet.
Tracey
She listened as she preened her feathers.I suppose I could do that. But you'll need to find me a mate that is my only requirementShe said. She could find a place to nest and al lthat on her own.
Lupanare
Lupanare smiled to herself, finding this bird's attitude amusing and to her liking. Chuckling, the wolfess nodded her agreement to the terms, "Consider it done. I may know of a place to find you a mate - would you prefer one of your own kind, or a more... exotic fare?" While she didn't know of any other harpy eagles in the Valley, Lupa did know of a few larger eagles, and a male in particular that use to hang around the outskirts of the human's lands.
Tracey
Tracey tilted her head.I will accept the right male, so long as he can fertilize my eggsSHe said.
Lupanare
"Would you like to come with to find him?" Lupanare questioned, as she now began to try and remember more precisely where she'd seen the eagles congregating. If all else failed, she'd send Dally to locate a good specimen, but the caramel-hued wolfess was certain she could locate the raptors herself.
Tracey
Tracey.i suppose i shall come to find himShe said.
Lupanare
Lupanare glanced back at Darkia, "We're making a slight detour, one that I doubt our leaders will mind if it gains us an avian ally." The sleek-coated she-wolf turns a smiling face back to the large bird of prey, "Follow me then, we'll see if we can find you a suitable suitor." She turned away from the two now, and began to head down the mountains, and towards the Tabumrot Scar.
Darkia
Darkia dipped her head and followed.
Tracey stretched her wings and took flight flying above them and above the tree's but her keen eyes could see them.
