Since Bonnie had no horse, Ethan didn't ride on Harth. Instead, he walked in front of the stallion, with his own riffle slung over his shoulder. Along with that, he had holster on one side of his belt that held a pistol. On the opposite side was a much smaller holster, holding a specially designed tranquilizer gun. And clipped behind that was a walkie, set to a frequency used by those under Ben's command.
With the man and stallion, six King Hounds traveled with the group. In the very front was Casper, who's primary job was to spot any prey or dangers. Trailing behind the group was Daisy, a smaller King Hound who's duty was to keep her guard for ambushers. Zig-zagging around at either side of the group was Stave, who's duty was to assist either Casper or Daisy straight away if they found prey or danger.
Traveling near the humans was Kong, the massive 240+ pound King Hound, and leader of the group. He fine-tuned the commands handed down by Ethan, and it was his job to try and interpret what the man wanted. Locklan and Meadow, the other two King Hounds, were 'fillers'. With no outstanding traits, their job was to assist where need be.
The wolf stayed close to kong and lowered her tail as not to let any other animals see it. If the others spotted prey she would get down into stalking postiion but till then she just walked.
Faint Snow: A pure white male tiger rested on a boulder sleeping. He soon heard the dogs and others and opened his eyes. He jumped off the boulder and headed into the brush quickly to attempt to avoid them.
Bonnie followed silently. It would be easy to forget she was there - she was light on her feet. Her golden hair was back in a ponytail and a rifle was slung over her shoulder. She turned her head at the slightest noise, ready for a predator or prey. She could not let her guard down. Her pace quickened and she caught up with Ethan. But she said nothing for a long time. Soon enough though, she spoke up. "I think I heard something. Over there." She said, pointing at the thick brush.
Amber paused and looked up at Bonnie. She was not asked to do anything, but she would spring into action the moment her human gave the command. She lifted her nose high and sniffed the air. The faint smell of a feline was in the cool breeze. "It's a cat." She stated, speaking quietly to the other canines.
Angels wings spotted Bonnie and Amber once more. She then trotted over and cought up with them. She smiled at Amber. Blood still dripped from her wounds and she still walked on only three legs. She looked at the man she had been so drawn to and walked a bit closer to him.
Kivi perched on a stone and watched the humans with his pale blue eyes. He blended nicely with the snow, but one wrong move would give his position away. He had good experience with humans so did not fear them. It was the dogs that he was worried about. He never really liked canines. He stayed completely still for as long as he could, but a small rabbit caught his attention. He launched from his perch and landed just too late. The rabbit escaped into his hole. Not realizing his mistake, he jumped around by the hole, hoping to capture his prey...
Angels wing spotted the bird and froze. She looked at the man. Then she crouched down ready to pounce. She looked rather weird though because she was crouched with one leg held up.
Stave had caught the scent of the cat as well, and pulled back abit to alert Casper. He in turn moved in to alert the rest of the pack. About that time, Daisy set up a shap bark, causing the entire pack, with Ethan and Harth included, to stop. She had given the alarm for a wolf, though her voice wasn't so loud as to suggest danger. And so Ethan held off an attack until he saw that the wolf was the same one from the Cafe.
"She sure seems accustom to humans." He commented outloud, while the pack stood ready to spring and tear her apart if given the orders. Luckily for Angel, Ethan held off on such a command, curious to see what the wolf was capable of. If she did turn out to be a problem, he was sure that his pack could kill her in seconds.
Just as the man was about to continue on, Kong brought his tail up, curved just slightly over his back. Ears planed to the side, he gave Ethan the signal of 'there's prey ahead'. But before he could rightly tell the pack how to handle the situation, there was a flutter of movement from a head, and Ethan watched as a snowy-colored hawk landed a short distance away. If it were a normal hawk, he would have left it alone. But this, this was something unique...
Drawing his dart gun out, Ethan aimed a shot at the bird's wing. It was a risky move, but the sedative that was in the dart wasn't as prone to adverse affects as the normal kind. Still, if he did manage to tranq the hawk, Ethan would have to be quick to give him a reversal drug. Not waiting to see if he had hit the hawk, Ethan gave the pack their command. "Bay it! Go!"
Bay. That's all Kong needed to hear. "Keep the tiger in your sites, and keep it contained! Bite if you must, but don't kill it! And what ever you do, don't let it get back to the humans or the horse!" He explained quickly to Amber and Salsa.
"The horse has a name..." Honthale huffed under his breath.
The words were lost on Kong though, who had charged forward along with the other five hounds. Together, they rushed for Faint Snow, attempting to circle around her and keep her from escaping....
Bonnie looked into the brush and raised her rifle. If the cat were to attack, she would shoot it. She nodded to Amber. "Go." She commanded quietly.
Bonnie had taught Amber that 'go' meant to guard the prey, but do not attack it. The hybrid growled and circled around the cat. "Come out, kitty kitty kitty..." She taunted.
Kivi was too late to dodge the dart. His wing was hit. He jumped around fearfully for a while, then fell asleep.
Angels wings heard the word bay from the man, she knew what that meant. She immediatly sprung into action, she was ahead of the others, mainly because she had been standing right near where the bird was. Angels wings pounced and landed over top of the bird, still holding one paw up, a couple drops of blood landed on the bird.
Bonnie clenched her teeth and glared at the wolf. "Did anybody tell you to attack the bird?! NO!" She snapped. "You're going to kill it! Get off!" She marched over the Angel's Wings and reached a hand out, attempting to pull the wolf off of Kivi.
Angel's wings looked up at Bonnie. Then to the man who had given the "bay" command.
Kivi stepped back when he saw Angels Wings. "D-Don't hurt me..." He said nervously.
Amber growled at the injured wolf. "Do not attack until given the command, or Bonnie will see that you are punished severely." She warned.
Bonnie was unaware of Kivi, concentrating on what was in the bushes.
Salsa stood alert and listened and then along with the others ran towards the cat and growled lowly.
Faint Snow:He growled as he was now surronded. His ears back. He slashed out which ever one was in front in defense. He spun around and mock chargwed each one trying to get them to run. He wished he hadn't left his mother and sister.
The pack held strong in their circle around Faint Snow, although both Daisy and Locklan recieved slashes when the tiger rushed their way. Still, when Snow got close, they snapped back with their fiercesome jaws and refused to break rank. "Calm down kitty, you're just making it worse for yourself." Kong barked out gruffly, already going through his mind what Ethan would do. If this had been a wolf, they'd just tear him to peices; but this was a tiger, and a strange looking one at that. Ethan would surely want to keep it.
As his pack took on the animal ahead, Ethan rushed towards the falcon and plucked him up. "This will fetch a pretty penny." He commented with a grin to Bonnie, before carefully stuffing the bird into his pack on Harth's saddle. Not the best place to put Kivi, but it would have to do for now.
Then Ethan sprinted forwards, riffle leveled as he headed for the sound of fighting. As soon as his dark eyes fell upon Faint Snow, Ethan reached for the tranq gun. Lining up his sights, he fired for the cat's shoulder when he got a clear shot...
Harth took a few steps after Ethan, ready to defend his master if need be.
He growled as he recieved a bite to his paw but it did nothing to stop him.He growled and had failed to notice the human and when he felt something strike his shoulder he let out a loud growl and turned toward him but salsa was in the way so he lunged and sunk his teeth into her back.Salsa had not moved in time and she let out a defeaning cry.
Angels wings sat down and looked again at the man. She let out a small bark. Not knowing what to do next.
Amber was farther from the tiger so did not take any damage. Still, she jumped back. Her eyes widened when Salsa was attacked. She barked viciously and snapped at Faint Snow. "Let the dog go!" She growled.
Bonnie raised her rifle, just in case. "You touch my dog and you die." She mumbled, looking through the scope.
The Tranq began to take a ffect and soon faint snow droped the wolf. He growled at them and charged though his vision was blury and soon he lay on the ground out cold.
Salsa badly wounded now lay still on the ground. she whined and let her head lift and then fall and continued to move around yet not able to do a thing.
Angels wings walked quitly to the injured wolf, being a wolf as well she wanted to make sure the other would be ok. She limped over and looked down at he other, trying not to let any blood drip on her.
Standing tense at first, ready to pull the trigger of his own riffle, Ethan waited for the tiger to go down. Once it did, he ran forward quickly. "Guard!" The man ordered, giving another common command to his pack as he approached Salsa. "Damnit! I don't know if..." He looked to the tiger, then back to Salsa, contemplating things in his mind. If he took Salsa to the vet, the tiger would be awake before he could get it back home. And if he took the tiger home first, he wasn't sure if Salsa would last that long.
As Ethan fussed over the fallen wolf, Kong turned to his pack, "You heard him, spread out! Hey, you!" He barked, dark eyes lighting on Angel, "Help us form a circle and watch for danger!" He sensed the tension between Amber and Angel, and since Angel was a full-blooded wolf and didn't have a master, he sided with Amber on he issue.
As commanded, Daisy and the other spread out from the scene, focusing their attention on anything that might be a threat to the two humans.
Meanwhile, Ethan tried to assess just how much damage had been done to his wolf. After a moment, he scooped her up and turned to Bonnie, "Could I get you to run her to the vet for me? I'll take the tiger and hawk to my place for now, and meet you at the clinic." One of the more 'compassionate' animal fighters, Ethan really did care about his 'pets'.
Angels wings looked at the one who spoke to her. She looked down at the other wolf then at the human than back at the dog who was speaking to her. She kept looking from one to the other, not knowing what to do.
Loxly watched the commotion from just a bit off, then he saw her, Angel;s wings, the one that had stolen his meet and given it to another pack. This time she wouldn't get away. He raised his rifle and aimed for the already injured wolf....
"Another human!" Meadow barked sharply, spotting Loxly as he raised his bow. They weren't trained to outright attack humans, but they were trained to 'defend' if asked too; reguardless if the enemy was human or not.
Hearing the bark, Ethan turned around, eyes scanning frantically in the direction of Meadow's warning. It took him a moment, but he eventually spotted the other man. Without hesitation, Ethan raised his riffle and aimed it directly at Loxly, "Drop your weapon, now!"
Loxly looked at the human speakin to him "She is of no use to you, she is already hurt
" he knew however she was an exaptional hunter with endless energy and strenght. He lookes at the human, raises his rifle and shoots...
Bonnie was about to take Salsa, but then Loxly came. She raised her rifle, finger on the trigger. "Trust me, boy. You don't want to be anywhere near me right now." She said through tightly clenched teeth. She was ready to shoot, and nothing was keeping her from doing so.
Amber had not been given the command to attack. She raised her hackles and growled menacingly at the human.
Angels wings looked up just as Loxly fired the rifle. A surge of pain went through her body. She howled in pain as the bullet hit her. She fell to the ground. She looked at Ethan and the other, to see what the would do.
Flinching when the shot was fired, Ethan pulled the trigger of his own riffle, sending a bullet towards Loxly. He was not aiming to warn or even injure; he meant to kill. Without waiting, Ethan shot off two more rounds towards the other human, hoping to kill him or at least wound him bad enough so he couldn't get away.
Harthrou pulled his ears back at the loud noise, but didn't run or rear up. He was use to this sort of stuff.
Kong and the others moved in closer to Ethan, ready to attack the man if given the order.
Loxly yelled in oain as two bullits hit him, one on the leg the other in the foot. He tried to get up but fell, he then began pullng himself away.
He remaind uncouncious
Salsa yelped as he scooped her up and she tryed to lfit her head again but it fell.
Bonnie still didn't lower her rifle. She stepped closer to Loxly and glared down at him. "If you want to live to see the stars tonight, I'd suggest you drop your weapon." She warned. Her voice was calm, but her tone said that she was serious.
Amber walked closer to Loxly and barked savagely.
Loxly slowly put his rifle down. Then he took his bow off his neck and then unstrapped his arrows from his back. Then he laid them in the grass. He peered around to see Angel and smiled when he saw that she was on the ground, bleeding heavily. Then he laughed and looked back at Bonnie. "I would worry more about the dying animal no wait animals." He hissed at her. He hadn't noticed the others before. But atleast he had gotten Angel's wings.
Bonnie picked up the weapons and put them behind her, then focused on the man again. "Well it's not your choice, is it?" She spat distastefully. She stepped back a bit, waiting for Ethan to tell her what to do. She wasn't very experienced in these situations.
Having set Salsa gently on the ground again, he strode swiftly towards Loxly and Bonnie, never once lowering his riffle away from the downed man. With the barrel aiming at the other's chest, he narrowed his eyes and spoke in a demanding voice, "Are there any others with you? What's your name?"
Glancing briefly to Bonnie, Ethan spoke to her as well, though his voice wasn't harsh this time, "Could you take Salsa to the Clinic? I'll... I'll deal with him, and then meet you there." He only hoped that she'd do as he wished, for he didn't want her to see what he was about to try.
With no orders to attack Loxly, the pack remained around Salsa, Angel, and Faint Snow. "Hang on, Salsa. Ethan will take care of you." Locklan assured, standing close to the downed wolfess, before looking curiously to Angel, "If you don't belong to that woman there, who's your master?"
Harthrou had his ears back and dark eyes glued on Loxly.
She heard locklan but did not move she was in too much pain.
Faint snow remaind uncouncious though his tail flicked.
Bonnie's pale blue eyes remained on Loxly in a cold stare. She kept her finger on the trigger, ready to fire at any time. But when Ethan spoke, she slowly lowered the rifle and stepped back. She bent over and gently picked Salsa up. "Come, Amber." She commanded, then walked down the mountain towards the Vet Clinic.
Amber calmed down and followed her master.
Loxly smiled at the man "I am alone. And the name is Loxly" he looked again at Angels wings then laughed.
Suddenly an arrow shoots past Loxly and strikes the ground right next to his leg. "Loxly, what do you think you are doing?" comes a voice from behind. Robin Hood is standing there, bow in hand, strung and ready to fire.
Loxly looks at him "Taking care of a problem"
As the arrow struck the ground inches from him, Ethan swung the end of the riffle up, aiming it at the new threat, "I thought you said you were alone!" The man hissed to Loxly, though now he kept his eyes on Robin Hood, "You, lower your weapon now!" He demanded, ready to pull the trigger and shoot Robin, if the other man tried to fire an arrow at him.
Kong snarled as his fur bristled high. He stood protectively in front of Angel now as he glared at the man on the ground. "I don't understand humans sometimes..." The massive dog said.
"You idiot I'm on your side" Robin snapped at Ethan. His bow was infact pointed directly at Loxly, his famous three arrows strung in it.
Loxly continued laughing as he watched Angel's wings writhing on the ground in pain. ">B?That pathetic creature seems to fancy you" he hissed at Ethan, he had noticed Angel was keeping her eyes desperatly on Ethan.
"My side? Who are you, anyway?" Ethan asked, raising a wary eyebrow at the other archer while keeping the riffle pointed at him still. Around here, it paid to be cautious.
Kong continued to look at Loxly, wishing Ethan would give him the command to attack.
Robin Hood smiled "I am known as Robin Hood," he kept his aim on Loxly. But his smile remained on his face.
Ethan narrowed his eyes now, thinking hard on the name. And then it clicked; Mikhail had told him about this fellow before. Slowly, Ethan lowered his riffle until it was aimed back at Loxly, "Well Robin, I appriciate the help, but I have things under control now." He said, planning on killing Loxly once Robin Hood left.
Robin Hood could tell he wanted to kill Loxly. "Well Loxly, I am going to spare you the embarassment of being hung by the sheriff, instead I'll let this great young man get rid of you" he laughed. He then lowered his bow and bowed his little robin hood bow turned around then ran off, 5 more men apeared and ran off with him, clearly the outlaws that follow Robin. Suddenly a bag flew towards Ethan. It landed directly beneath his feet. It was full of money.
He let out a roar as the tranq began to ware off.
Wary of Robin Hood, but still grateful to the man for the help, Ethan focused back on Loxly. "Good night, Loxly." Putting the riffle over his shoulder in favor for his pistol, Ethan pointed the hand gun at Loxly's head and fired.
Harthrou snorted and directed his ears forward. He had seen Ethan kill people before, but he was always made nervous by the creepy, frightening persona his master had when he murdered someone.
Angel's wings still had not taken her pleading eyes offof Ethan, she was still drawn to him for some reason. Ignoring the pain, she tried with all her remaining strength to get up and walk to Ethan she strugled and struggled, whimpering, and every so often letting out a terrible yelp...
He let out another roar and now staggered to his feet.HE stood where he was and blinked. He slashed out at what ever was close though not recovererd fully it was't precise.
With Loxly executed, Ethan took a hasty look around before striding back towards Faint Snow. Seeing that the tiger was beginning to pull out of the sedative, the man filled the syringe and gave the big cat another shot of it. Then came the hard part.
Dragging out a series of ropes and a unfolding a tarp from the pack, he rigged up a makeshift 'sled'. And with much effort on his part, he rolled the young tiger onto the tarp and secured him down. This in turn was harnessed to Kong and Locklan, the strongest of the pack dogs.
Ethan then picked up Angel, and began to lead the pack and their goods back to his cabin.
