Dimitri & Others

Dimitri was on the edge of unconsciousness as he was taken into the hospital by Hunter. Blood seeped from the gunshot wound in his chest. His green eyes darted around the room before he closed them completely.

A nurse was the first one to see Dimitri. Recognizing him, she turned her head and called out to a doctor. "Doctor Volkov! Your brother is here!" There was a great sense of urgency as Viktor Volkov ran into the front room and got his brother onto a guerny. "Dimitri, stay with me." He said, beginning to wheel Dimitri into the emergency room. The main priority was to get him stabilized.

Dimitri opened his eyes and reached out to grab Hunter's arm. "Del'fin..." He grunted one word, likely a foreign word to Hunter, or more precisely, a foreign name. It was a fishing vessel that frequently fished in Orca Bay. The ship was owned by Konstantin Volkov. Dimitri's adoptive father. He knew Konstantin would help if Damian or his henchmen struck back. "If he comes for you, look for--" Before he could finish speaking, he stopped breathing.

"We have to get him to the operating room!" Viktor shouted, wheeling his dying brother away.

Hunter

She had rushed into the hospital before she knew what she was doing, and she caught everyword that Dimitri said. I don't understand.... She whispered softly as he was carted away. She halted in the center of the lobby, before realization set it.

she was in a hospital. Immediatly she cuold feel her heart beat picking up, her skin becoming cool and clammy and her bright eyes shifted around the room. She couldn't stay here. Not here. She turned and very nearly ran into another Doctor. Eva frowned at the young teenager before her. Miss, are you ok? She asked concerned. Then Hunter ran, heading out the door and into the cool night air where she could breathe, trying to forget the restraints, the needles, the smell of sterility, the stench of death. Breath wheezed in and out of her lungs, as tears streamed down her cheeks. She loved Dimitri, but she didn't know if she could go back in there. Not even for him.

Dimitri & Others

It didn't take long to remove the bullet and stabilize Dimitri; he was a resilient person. In just about an hour, the team of doctors had him patched up and on the way to recovery. Thankfully, the worst damage the bullet did was pierce a lung and break a few ribs. He would be in pain for quite some time, but he'd live.

After a few moments, Dimitri opened his eyes slightly to find himself in a hospital room. He hated hospitals. He was like Hunter in that way. His fear of medical instruments went far back to his childhood when Damian would 'experiment' on him. He still had a small scar on his shoulder that read 'N-34.' It appeared to have been burnt into his skin as identification. And besides that, his psychopathic father inserted a sort of microchip into his skin when he was young - it contained a Global Positioning System. Damian always knew where he was. He could never hide.

He suddenly noticed that Hunter wasn't there. He immediately assumed the worst. He feared that Damian had her. "H...Hunter...Hunter! Where are you!" His voice was weak and yelling hurt his chest, but he ignored the pain. He loved Hunter and didn't want anything to happen to her.

Viktor came into the room when he heard his brother yelling. "Take it easy, Dimitri." The doctor said calmly. "Hunter's in the waiting room. I'll go tell her she can see you now." He walked out to the waiting room, but he didn't see Hunter there. Eventually, though, he noticed her outside. He opened the door and walked out. "Dimitri is awake now. He'd like to see you."

Hunter

Bright blue eyes flashed up to Viktor. I can't go in there. she whispered. Her hands were shaking, and tears filled her eyes as she leaned against the wall. She was half bent over, and her entire body was quivering with both cold and fear. Tell him... What? That she was a chicken? That she was to much of a coward even though he was in there by himself in pain? That half of it was her fault for not paying closer attention? I'll be inside in a minute. She whispered, her voice so low it was hard to understand what she had said.

Viktor

Viktor looked at Hunter sympathetically. He could tell she was afraid. She was afraid like Dimitri. He said nothing more. He couldn't think of what to say. There was nothing he could say. If Hunter didn't want to go in, Viktor wouldn't make her. Just as he was about to acknowledge her wishes and go back inside, he heard her speak up. "I'll tell him that. He'll be happy to see you. His room number is 224." He could tell that Dimitri liked Hunter, and it seemed like Hunter felt the same way. Viktor didn't think they'd want to be apart for long. And with that, he went back inside and informed Dimitri that Hunter was coming.

Hunter

She stepped back into the Hospitals glossy whiteness, her face the pallor of a sheet. She moved quickly, not looking at anyones faces and hurried into Dimitri's room, slamming the door behind her as if that would keep out the hospital. Seeing him in the bed had a wave of nausea threatening her. Hey. She whispered softly, as she moved closer to his side. She sat down in a chair, taking Dimitris hand in her own. I'm sorry. She whispered softly to him, unsure of what else to say.

Dimitri

Dimitri watched wearily as Hunter entered the room and sat down. He held her hand firmly, as if he was afraid of losing her. He didn't want to lose her like he lost Angie. His baby sister didn't stand a chance against the Akatsukis. Dimitri couldn't do anything, but it still haunted him to this day. "Hunter...there's nothing to be sorry about. Without you, I wouldn't be here today." He said weakly, his breathing still a bit abnormal. "Thank you for saving me. I...I owe everything to you, Hunter." He was very grateful that Hunter was there to save the day.

He glanced around the hospital room. Everything was so...unsettling. The white walls, the medical equipment...everything. "Viktor says...he says going to sneak me out today." He added. "I was wondering...if you want to come to my house." His house was actually a much safer place from his father, and with Viktor there, nothing could go wrong. And it would mean the world to him if Hunter came too.

Hunter

Hunter gave a meek smile. I'd like that, Dimitri. She whispered softly. She gnawed on her lower lip for a moment, before she stood up and slipped into the bed, curling up beside him. She was very mindful of his injuries, staying on his good side and rested her head next to his. Let me know when its to much. She whispered softly, meaning both their relationship, and his pain.

Dimitri

Dimitri smiled weakly, his eyes closing for a moment as Hunter climbed onto the bed with him. He put his arm around her, being careful not to worsen the pain. "It's never too much." He whispered back, laying his other arm over his injured chest.

A nurse walked into the room and paused uncomfortably for a moment. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything..." She began, "...but there's somebody who'd like to see you. Her name is...Bonnie Hatchett."

Dimitri clenched his teeth at the mention of Bonnie. "Don't let her in here. That bitch works with Damian. She tried to kill me!" His heart rate rose considerably and his breathing became more abnormal. His muscles tensed greatly, worsening the pain in his chest. The rage he felt for Bonnie was tremendous. Last he saw the young woman, she had a gun to Viktor's head.

The nurse stared wide-eyed. "Oh. Okay. Sorry to bother you. I'll tell her that you can't accept any more visitors right now." The woman walked off, shutting the door behind her.

Dimitri stared at the door for a few seconds before turning back to Hunter. "Sorry about that. Just another person who wants me dead." His heart still raced with the rage and his breathing went back to normal only somewhat.

Hunter

Hunter smiled faintly. We all have people who want us dead. She whispered softly. Her head rested lightly on his shoulder, her hand resting on top of his. I would love to come home with you. She murmered to him, her eyes closing. With dimitri, the hospital walls didn't feel as though They were closing in, as if she was trapped and being held prisoner. With dimitri, she felt free.

Dimitri

Dimitri closed his eyes, calming down slightly. He felt strangely peaceful here with Hunter. He felt safe. But the fear of the hospital was threatening to creep back in and take him over. "If you're ready to leave, we can go anytime. I think I can walk." He said softly, eager to get out of the hospital room and back into his own house.

Hunter

Lets get out of here. She whispered softly. Hunter slid out of the bed, all grace and fluidity, then held her hand out to him. She was a pretty little thing, with her cunning blue eyes, and her oh so pale skin. Even the absurd streak of hot pink had an endearing quality on her angel face. She gave Dimitri a faint smile. So where is home?

Dimitri

Dimitri sat up with a grunt, grimacing slightly. He held one arm over his injured chest and grabbed Hunter's hand with the other. He carefully stood up and smiled down at Hunter. "2095 Beaverdale Road. Not far from here." He spoke quietly, not wanting to worsen the pain. "Well, let's go then." He walked slowly out into the hall and kept going, step-by-step, until he was outside.

Hunter

She followed after him, her steps silent as her hand held his.
