Shasta
Shasta lay in her bed, staring at the ceiling. She still had never seen her children, even after all these days. A nurse came into her room. "Miss Wild? Your children are very healthy and you have recovered. Would you like to see your son and daughter now?" She asked. Shasta looked a bit nervous. "Yes. Well, I mean... Yes, actually, yes." She said, still quite shaky. The nurse left and came back with two infants. She gave them to Shasta. She pitied the young woman, for she was here alone. There was nobody to help her take care of these children. Shasta had gone on and on about how 'the adopter' was coming to pick them up, but the doctors were beginning to doubt that would happen.
Shasta looked up at the nurse. "Has...has anyone come yet?" She asked. The nurse frowned and shook her head.
Ethan Rom
In order to avoid suspicion, it was Ethan who had been employed to take the twins, while Benjamin was with Aralyn and her infants. Smiling brilliantly, the long-legged man strode through the hospital in a clean-pressed blue shirt and a pair of khakis, giving off an aura of confidence and friendliness. Where Benjamin was the king of manipulation, Ethan could instill a since of spine-tingle dread or open friendliness with the subtle chance of features alone.
Reaching the front desk, Ethan waited patiently for the receptionist.
*Woman*
The woman who had been speaking on the phone held a finger up, asking Ethan to wait a moment. She finished the phonecall and then addressed the man at the desk. "May I help you, sir?" She asked politely.
Ethan Rom
"Yes, I am here on behalf of Child Services. We've received a number of calls regarding one of your patients, Shasta Wild, and need to ask her a few questions." The man was such a mysterious one, who in the eyes of most locals, seemed like your perfect gentlemen and friendly neighbor. Very, very few knew his ties with ATHA, unless they happened to be in a devious business of their own.
Shasta Wild
The woman nodded to Ethan. "She's right down the hall. She's been waiting." She stated, leading Ethan to Shasta's room.
Shasta glanced at the woman, then looked at Ethan nervously. "Who are you? Where's Ben? She questioned.
Emily glanced around the room, not having a grasp of the world yet. This place seemed so strange to her eyes. She seemed to pick up on her mother's anxiety, for she stirred a bit.
Ethan & Others
Ethan continued to place nice, and waited until the nurse had left before he stepped further into the room and set a briefcase down on the table beside Shasta's bed. "A friend of Mr. Linus's. He is a busy man, as I'm sure you can understand, and sent me in his stead." After rummaging through the case, the tall man brought out a set of papers and handed this over to Shasta, along with an ink pen he pulled from a shirt pocket, "To make the adoption 'official', I'll need you to sign a few things for me."
Shasta Wild
Shasta had her suspicions, but if Ethan said he was with Ben, she had to believe him. It wouldn't be long before her twins' father found out about Shasta being here. She took the papers and signed them where she needed to before looking back up at Ethan. "I guess this is it." She mumbled. "Will I still be able to visit them?"
Ethan & Others
Taking the papers, he filed them away in his case and looked squarely to the new mother, "In a controlled environment, yes. But on the pretenses that you are a family friend, and nothing more. Their mother was killed by the Akatsuki." He spoke this in a lowered tone, factual in manner, to both keep any outside ears from hearing, and to imply just what her offspring were going to be told about her. "Have you named them yet?"
Shasta
Shasta nodded, clearly a bit uncomfortable about this, but she knew it was for the best. She looked down at the twins, then back up at Ethan. "The girl is Emily and the boy is Renji." She informed. After a few minutes of talking to the twins, she spoke again. "You can take them to Ben now. They're not safe here."
Ethan Rom
Absorbing the information and storing it away to memory, Ethan and gone ahead and bundled both babies up in blankets, and with extreme care, settled them into either arm. "We will contact you, not the other way around." And that was all he left her with before slipping out of the door with his case and walking out of the hospital.
