Andrea

Andrea drove to the hospital and parked as best as she could at such a time. She opened her door, then opened the back door so Ethan could get Bonnie out. There was no way that she could lift her sister.

Ethan

Ethan was quick to get out of the car and scoop up Bonnie once more. He didn't realize he was barefoot until his now dirty feet hit the pavement. Oh well, if they asked, he'd come up with some explanation. The important thing was getting Bonnie treatment.

Ethan jogged as quickly as he could towards the hospital, and into the main room. "My friend needs help! She been shot, and she's loosing a lot of blood!"

Dr. Laura Marachek

Ethan's voice caused a head to peek out of a nearby room, brown eyes peering over the rim of a pair of tiny wire glasses. Dr. Laura Marion "Call-Me-Laura" Marachek stepped out of the room, deft fingers tucking a pencil back into the shoulder-length salt-and-pepper hair as she stalked toward the door, soft voice shooting orders at nearby nurses as she headed out the door with Ethan, an army of medical personnel streaming ahead of them with a stretcher.

As several pairs of practiced hands reached to load Bonnie onto the guerny, Dr. Laura turned to Ethan, voice brisk and professional. What happened?

Ethan

He relinquished his hold on Bonnie, letting the others take care of her now, "A couple of thugs showed up at her house... I think they were from that new ninja-gang." Ethan began to explain, "They threw knives; she got hit twice." Ethan glanced down at his own hands, covered with Bonnie's blood. He had managed to get out of the scene without any injury, and could only hope that Itachi and the others wouldn't show up any time soon. He knew he hit at least one of them in the gut with one of his shots.

Bonnie

Bonnie groaned as she was put onto the guerny. "If they touch my dogs I'll kill them..." She mumbled, still keeping her arm over her abdomen. Andrea nodded, concern in her soft brown-green eyes. "You can be sure that the fools will get what's coming to them if they dare touch your dogs." She said softly, staying by her sister's side. And this was the truth - the canines would maul anyone who came on their property without permission.

Dr. Laura Marachek

Dr. Marachek nodded silently as she listened to Ethan, though a faint frown creased her face. She of all people knew how corrupt many of the city officials were, and knew that it was this that allowed the current gang activities to go unchecked. It certainly led to a number of the injuries Laura had treated, and she had no fondness for watching people in pain for no good reason, which was the main reason she'd become a doctor. But she set this issue aside in her mind and reached a hand out to the side as the nurses swarmed around Bonnie with various pads and wrappings to staunch the flow of blood.

A nurse placed a clipboard in the outstretched hand as though she'd been waiting for that cue, and Laura turned this over to Ethan. I'm resident physician Laura Marachek. Call me Laura. I'll be taking care of your friend, but I need her info first. Fill that out and turn it into the nurse's station.

Bonnie

Bonnie clenched her teeth as the doctors touched the wounds. She was cut on her abdomen and on her lower leg. The one on her abdomen was worse, as the knife cut into some organs. There was blood on her shirt and running down her leg, but also on her face where she had been coughing up blood.

Ethan

Ethan nodded vaguely as he took the papers, for his focus was still on Bonnie. But as she was carted away, he turned quickly to Andrea, handing over the paper for her to fill out, "I'm going to check on the house and make sure the gang didn't come back. Here..." He tore a corner off of the paper and scribbled down his cellphone number on it, "Call me the instant you here anything about Bonnie." After handing the paper to her, he departed from the hospital.

Dr. Laura Marachek

As she began to prod around the mess in the girl's abdomen, it became obvious that several of the organs were damaged in the fight. A few soft orders later, Bonnie was packed up and headed to the operating room, Dr. Marachek jogging along beside the cart, speaking softly to Bonnie. Okay, girly, here's the gameplan. Got you a good slice there, so we gotta take the heavy stuff to you. So were's heading to the express lane in surgery. We'll get you patched up there, you'll stay a couple days, and, if all goes well, home you go.

Bonnie

Andrea nodded to Ethan, taking the paper with the number on it and shoving it in her pocket.

Bonnie almost didn't hear the woman's voice, as the pain distracted her. But she heard enough. She knew she would be here for a few days, and that the dogs would take care of themselves for that time.

Dr. Laura Marachek & *Nurses*

Just as Dr. Marachek finished speaking, they arrived in surgery, and the many hands that had held the guerny left it, scurrying about the room to prepare things as the anesthesiologist went to work. As she placed as mask of ether over Bonnie's face, she spoke softly. Deep breaths, sweetie. It'll make the pain go away.

Everyone else was pulling out tools and sanitizing surfaces with the swift efficiency of those trained to the job. Even knowing that Bonnie's life lay on their speed, everyone was peculiarly calm, as is always the case.

Bonnie

Bonnie looked around the room rapidly, almost trying to stay awake. Everything was a blur to her. For a minute she even forgot what happened to her and why she was here. But soon enough she was asleep.

Dr. Marachek & *Nurses*

As soon as Bonnie went under, a freshly-scrubbed and gloved Dr. Marachek set to work, cleansing and healing, assessing the damage to those vital organs. With a finely-tuned hand, she began to sew shut the gaping slices in her bowels and stomach, switching thread and needle as she came to the diaphragm in order to prevent cross-contamination. Once the hole in the diaphragm was sewn closed, it ought to resolve the problems the girl was having with her breathing. As she finished the last stitch, Laura sorted through Bonnie's abdomen to ensure she'd repaired all the damage, and then sewed the skin and muscle back into place. She dropped the bloodied needle into a bio-hazard sharps container and went to scrub-out as the gathered nurses sanitized and bandaged Bonnie's middle. Once they were done, they began to cart Bonnie down to Post-Op Recovery and Dr. Marachek headed down to speak with Andrea.

The spectacled woman stopped by the nurses station and wrote a few notes on Bonnie's chart, orders to start the girl on a series of anti-biotics to fight infection and a moderately strong painkiller. When she'd finished, she turned to Andrea, her brown eyes warm and concerned behind the wire-rimmed glasses. She's out of surgery, and I've got her on IV painkiller and antibiotic. She'll have to stay a few days, but she ought to be fine.

Andrea

Andrea waited for what seemed like days. She watched everyone come down the hallway, hoping it would be Doctor Marachek.

Finally, the woman did come down the hallway, and Andrea listened solemnly as she spoke. "Thank you." She sighed, relieved. But the first thing on her mind was getting Ethan down here. He said to call as soon as she got news of Bonnie. "I...I have to call my friend..." She mumbled, pulling out her phone and frantically dialing Ethan's number. "Bonnie's out of surgery." She said into the phone.

*Ethan*

The call was picked up just after the first ring.
"Andrea?" His voice sounded hastened. In the background, the sounds of snarling, yelping, and fighting were loud.
"How's she doing? Everything go well? ...woah, turn Harth!" Ethan's voice sounded distant for a moment. Boom! Boom! Gun shots.

Andrea

Andrea gasped when she heard the fighting animals. "They said she's alright..." She said distantly. "What's going on over there???"

Ethan & Packs

"She's alright?" Evident relief could be heard, though Ethan didn't have time to celebrate at the moment.
"I'm not sure... to the right, woah!" His sentence cut off as he continued to direct Harthrou around.
"...I'm not sure; a pack of animals is attacking my place. It's a mad-house!"

Andrea

Andrea almost dropped the phone when she heard the news. "I'm coming. I'll get Bonnie's pack." She closed the phone giving Ethan no time to answer, then rushed out the door.
