Chika, Mya, Layla, and Malik
Chicka the long haired Chihuahua was dozing under this houses porch steps it was dawn. She wasn't alone either.
Mya the chinese hairless was curled up with Chicka it was cold.
Layla was also curled up with them sleeping.
Malik however was up and at the knocked over trash can digging in it.
Bethany Anderson
Bethany awoke early in the morning like she always did. It was barely light outside. She hurried and got dressed in an old pair of jeans and a hoodie to go outside and take care of the horses. Once she got outside she spotted the trash can that had been knocked over and she went to sit it up, spotting a little puppy as she approached the can. She could not help but say aww as she stopped and looked to the puppy, she did not even see the others under the stairs yet. She knelt down and spoke. Come here puppy. She spoke in a friendly happy way as she hoped the puppy would approach.
Malik and others
Malik finished the piece of meat he had found when he heard the door open and the human women speak or made a sound rather. He stared at her fearfully and yelped and backed away.
Chicka bolted up and came out from under the porch to see what was up and she stopped and growled slightly unsure of what to do or how to react really.
Mya shivered as she stood up and followed.
Layla however was the oldest and most friendly of them and approached the girl.
Bethany Anderson
Bethany was more than a little bit surprised when she had called for the puppy and the other three toy dogs came out from under the porch. She turned a bit to see the shivering Chinese Crested, the growling chihuahua, and the mixed breed who walked right up to her. She smiled as she held a hand out to the dog who approached, not really paying attention to the others at the moment, if they wished to come to her then her best bet was to make friends with the ones who did want to approach her.
So, she pulled a treat from her pocket, she was used to carrying treats around since they had so many dogs. She broke one in half and held it out to Layla.
Malik
Layla ignored the other warnings from her friends as she sniffed the treat and then grabbed it. Growling slightly now if anyone dare try to take it.
Malik saw the food and ran over and tried to take it from Layla to only get a snap on the muzzle. He whined as he laid down hoping there be some left unaware of the one in beth's hand.
The others watched . The Crested watched Warily.
Bethany Anderson
Bethany saw the little Yorkie mix run over as soon as he saw food and saw the other dog nip at him for trying to take her food. These dogs must be starving. She held the other half of the treat out to the Yorkie mix and if he took it then she would hold her hand out to Layla to try to make friends. If she managed to make friends with them then she would take them inside where it was warm and give them some food.
Malik
Malik took the treat and pranced to the stair and sat at the bottom step and ate it.
Layla finished hers and sniffed at her and and licked it.
THe Crested finally moved forward and sniffed at her trying to find some more food.
The Chichuahua was more apprehensive.
Bethany Anderson
Bethany smiled as the mixed breed dog sniffed her hand and then licked it. Well at least she had made friends with one of the dogs. The puppy had taken the treat and pranced a few feet away to eat it. At that time the Chinese Crested finally moved up to her and sniffed her and she once again reached in to her pocket and broke a treat in half, giving half of it to the hairless dog. She then reached to pet Layla.
Chika
Mya sniffed her hand and then took the treat and ate it quickly. Her tail wagging now.
Chika remained back but movd slightly closer out of hunger.
Layla tried to grab the other half of hte treat.
Malik finished his and ran back.
Bethany Anderson
Bethany had finally gained the trust of three out of the four dogs. The other was beginning to come closer, though she could tell that they were nearly starving. So, she stood up and called for the canines to follow her. All of her dogs were in the back yard right now, so she could take them inside and feed them without them having to meet the other dogs if they would follow. She knew her dogs would probably be ok with them, but she did not want to scare them by so many new things all of a sudden. So, she walked up the stairs and opened the door to let the dogs in if they would come.
Chika
Chika watched the others warily as they followed the girl inside and then soon she followed. Her tail stiff over her back.
Malik jumped up as he followed her in wanting more.
Bethany Anderson
Bethany waited until all of the dogs came inside and she then walked to the kitchen. She got out some cans of dog food and some puppy food that they had for Angel. She also grabbed some extra dog bowls from the pantry and mixed some food for the dogs. Once she finished mixing up a bowl for each dog she sat them down a good ways apart so that the dogs would not fight over them.
Chika
AT the site of the food chika moved to the first bowl and began munching down.
Malik also moved to one.
The other did so as well
Bethany Anderson
Bethany watched as the dogs ate and then once they finished she walked in to the living room and sat down on the couch, letting them explore or do as they wished. All of the dogs were outside so the only animals they had to deal with in the house were the three kittens who were now playing in the middle of the living room floor not paying the dogs any mind, they were used to dogs and tended to ignore them.
Malik
Malik hadn't ever come across a cat before so naturally he was more curious then anything. So when he entered the living room he stopped and stared at them. One foot off the ground as if debating on stalking them. His little tail wagging.
Mya had seen cats before and had the urge to attack them but controlled it and moved to sniff around bethany.
Layla saw the cats and started barking at them though didn't go at them.
Chika however wasn't entirely cat friendly though she wouldn't touch them just chase them. She ran at them. She wouldn't harm them but she like to scare them..
Bethany Anderson
Bethany watched as the kittens were spotted by the dogs. All of them seemed ok with the kittens aside from Chicka who attempted to chase them. Well, these cats were very used to the dogs, so instead of running they attempted to try to get the dog to play with them. After all, they knew that if they ran then the dog would chase them and they did not like being chased. Bethany reached down to pet Mya who approached her and began sniffing around.
Chika
When the cats came at her she froze completely still. Her lips curl back in a slight snarl unsure of what to make of this behavior.
Mya let her her tail wagging.
Layla attempted to jump onto the couch.
Malik watched the cats.
Bethany Anderson
The kittens saw the reaction of the small dog and they decided that they should maybe be a little slower to approach. So, Skittles, Maggie, and Glacier all backed off a bit. Glacier then waited a moment before he stood up and approached this canine slowly this time. The others now spotted Malik and they approached him somewhat cautiously.
Bethany pet the Chinese Crested, knowing that these dogs would be happier here than outside in the cold. After all, it was down right chilly, and none of these dogs were really made to endure such temperatures. She patted the couch for the two beside her to jump up if they wished. Layla did and she reached out to pet her if the canine would let her, waiting to see what Mya would decide to do. She kept glancing at the kittens to see how they were getting along with the other two dogs.
Chicka
Chicka growled slightly now as one approached her. She bared her teeth at the kitten.
Mya jumped up and crawled right onto her lap and curled up.
Layla laid down beside her.
Malik went down into a playbow.
Bethany Anderson
Bethany smiled to the two little dogs who jumped up on the couch. The little hairless dog curled up on her lap and she stroked the canine's head as Layla also jumped up on the couch and laid on the couch beside her. She used her other hand to stroke her. Silently, she watched the little white kitten who had approached the Chihuahua, making sure that Chicka was not moving to attack him. The two calico kittens were overjoyed now as the dog wanted to play. They both set their game into motion. Glacier just stood his ground in front of the small dog, if she tried to bite him then he would attempt to scratch her with a front paw.
Chicka
Mya fell asleep.
Layla too fell asleep.
Bethany Anderson
Bethany continued to stroke the sleeping dogs.
Glacier watched the canine as she swatted and barked and he just sat down in front of her, somewhat confused. Did she think she was a cat? Then he pretty much shrugged it off and began swatting playfully at her, his claws not extended so even if he did hit her, he would not hurt her.
The other two kittens chased after the puppy as he bound off away from them, having fun at their game of chase.
Chicka
She snarled at th cat and snapped at his paw didn't this cat get it?
Malik barked as he ran down the hall.
Mya and layla slept
Bethany Anderson
The little white kitten jumped and hissed as the dog's teeth grazed his paw. Then he swatted her, this time with his claws extended. If he had managed to land his attack then he would have scratched the dog across the nose. Then he turned and ran to the couch where Bethany was and jumped up on the back of it so the dog could not get him. The other two kittens continued chasing the puppy.
Chicka
Chicka was prepared and the kittens claws just narrowly missed her. She watched it and chased it and then moved to curl up at bethany feet.
Malik turned around then and barked and made to run at them
Bethany Anderson
As Bethany sat there with three of the smaller dogs crowded around her she heard the barking of the dogs outside, telling her that they were ready to come in. Normally they could come and go as they wished, but she had locked the doggy door when she had brought the small dogs in. Now, she placed the small dog that was on her lap on the couch and stood up. She walked to the door and opened it, keeping the dogs outside for now. She called for Angel first, she was the smallest of her dogs and she thought that she should introduce them to her dogs one by one. So, she let Angel in and then shut the door. The little Basset Hound puppy bounced right up to the dogs, she was obviously no threat and about the same size of these dogs right now.
