Hopping off the chair, being significantly shorter than most people being near just five feet, she followed him out the cafe and to his truck You're truck is nice, when did you get a new one? she said as she got in when he opened the door for her. Clicking her seat belt on she waited for him to get in and start his truck, setting her phone in her lap and her own set of keys to her own truck in her lap as well. Pulling her hair to one side Do you think that your sisters will mind me working at the ranch? It was theirs after all and she didn't think he would just hire her without running it by his siblings first. She was excited to see all the dogs and his family again, she was a little bit scared but she figured with him there, nothing could happen.

She had laid her head on her hand, on the armrest between them, making her head brush Luke's shoulder if he hadn't moved through the ride to the ranch. Once she noticed they were coming up to it, she waited til they'd stopped and unbuckled her seat belt; gathering her keys and phone out of her lap. Swinging the door open just enough for her to get slide out of the truck. Shut the door and waited for Luke at the front of the truck. Her stomach was in knots as she became more nervous, it'd been four years since she'd seen his family, since she'd seen him but she had no anxiety over seeing him again.

Tori had been getting older, she was young when she'd first gotten to her forever home, but now it'd been four years, she still felt like she was in her prime but that wasn't always the case. She helped out her owner in any way that she could, trying to please her when she could or cheer her up when she was down. Being there through as much as her owner would let her. She was peacefully laying on the floor in the house when a door shut outside, instantly she jumped to her feet, barking as she briskly walked to the door. Barking to alert everybody that someone was here. Her tail wagging behind her and going back and forth between the door and the big room she was in before, barking as loud as she could.

Luke Anderson

Luke hadn’t given much thought to the fact that he no longer was driving the truck that she would probably remember as much as he used to. So, when she mentioned the new truck and asked when he had got it he just shrugged. ”About a year ago. The old one broke down so I got the new one so I had some time to work on the other one.” He had been too busy at the time to really work on the old truck, he had done some work with it since then but it still needed some work to get it going again. He shut her door for her once she was in and then walked over to his side before putting the key into the ignition and turning it so the truck roared to life. He headed towards the ranch as he heard her question. A smile came to his lips as he looked over to her as he responded. ”I think they will be happy to have another couple hands around to help out. It’s been pretty busy lately and only going to get busier with new foals coming this spring.

Did he think that his sisters would hold some sort of grudge against the girl for leaving and never coming back? No, he was pretty sure that they would just welcome her back with open arms. It was how they were raised. And while he had been hurt that she had left, he knew that she had been someone who he thought of as someone who could be very important to him and as such, he believed in second chances. Everyone has to follow their own path and he was just glad that hers had led her back to him. He smiled a bit when her head brushed against his arm as she rested it on her hand. He didn’t mind in the least. It was only when they pulled up to the ranch and he parked that the contact was broken by her moving to unhook her seatbelt.

He got out as she did, meeting her around the front of the truck. ”Hey, you look like you’re worried I’m leading you into an ambush or something. Everything alright?” He gave her a concerned look. He could see the worry written on her face as he looked to her. Then he heard barking and the front door of the house opening.

Leila had been living on the ranch since she was fifteen, she had come to love the life there with her siblings. At least she didn’t have to answer to her parents like she had to back home. But now she was nineteen and didn’t have to answer to anyone any way. She was in the house doing a bit of straightening up when she heard the door close outside in the drive and then heard Tori and the other dogs begin carrying on and barking. She looked out the window and saw Luke with an unfamiliar girl and she walked to the door and opened it, leaving it open so the dogs could come out if they so wished while she bounced down the stairs to her brother and the unknown woman. ”Luke, who’s your friend?” She smiled and gave a small wave to the other girl before going on to introduce herself before Luke even had a chance to speak. ”Hey, I’m Leila.

Luke chuckled at his sister’s quick introduction and such. The younger girl was always very quick to greet people and to want to make new friends. She had been much more shy and quiet when they had all been back home but it seemed that she had blossomed into a social butterfly just like his other sisters since coming to live here. ”Leila, this is my friend Kristi. She is going to stay in the extra house and help out around here for a while.” He smiled still as he patted a couple of the dogs who had come to greet them as he had spoken.

Before she had the chance to respond to Luke's words, she heard barking dogs and the next to come was one of his sisters. Leila, that's how she introduced herself, the girl gave a friendly smile back to Leila. And before she had the chance to speak, Luke's words hit her ears. Kristi nodded after, "As long as everybody here is fine with it, if not, I guess I'll figure something out she offered a smile and patted some of the dogs that had come over to greet, one who stood back barking and barking was Tori; a new person here that she didn't understand why. Kristi looked at Leila, "Just until I can get into vet school and look into starting my own clinic. She smiled again and looked down at the dogs, then to Luke, she'd automatically stepped closer, slightly behind him as if like a child looking for the safety of it's parents body to block anyone from being able to see them. She continued to stand where she was, unable to move it seemed. Her eyes wide and bright. She had really changed since the last time she was her. The people she was with before weren't very... nice to put it simply. She looked up at Luke, "Can we go see it later? she smiled brightly, leaning into him a bit and laughing some.
