Cherokee Song,Copperhead & *humans*

The world around them was a blur as the two mustangs weanlings squawked and kicked in the trailer prison. Their roan pelts glazed with sweat as they pulled into Clover Fields, the new home they had acquired. Cherokee anxiously whinnied to the looming presence of other horses before feeling the warmth of his friend’s breath against the dark strands that formed his mane. Both colt and filly turned their heads to the sound and sight of an opening trailer and blinding sunlight, here goes. The gentle words of the handlers weren’t enough to calm the pair as they struggled out of the trailer, bucking and rearing attempting to rid themselves of the unfamiliar feeling of halters. As one of the handlers lost grip on Cherokee’s halter Copperhead took the distraction to free herself pulling until the human fell backwards onto to ground behind her. Together the young mustangs began a hasty trot down the driveway, lead ropes flailing snaking wildly behind them. Handlers called to the pair running as quickly as they could to catch them.

Matt and Luke Anderson

Luke was over at the ranch, his twin brother Matt had asked him to come over in case he needed some assistance. You see, Matt had recently bought a couple of wild Mustangs and they were due to get here any minute. Matt had been watching for the truck and he hollered for Luke when he saw it pull up. The two were heading out the door as the men started to lead the two roan Mustangs out of the trailer. It was obvious they weren't trained at all. Then something awful happened. The two horses got loose from their handlers and went running down the drive. Matt cursed under his breath and moved down to where the horses were. They wouldn't be able to leave the property since it was all fenced, but he didn't want them hurting themselves or any of the other horses. The two brothers stood calmly close by the porch, motioning for the handlers to stay back. Them chasing after the horses would only upset them more. Once the horses calmed down they would work on getting them into the round pen but not until then.
